UzArt by Maurizio Baccili 12/11/2009 – 12/12/2009 maUriZio Baccili was born in Viareggio, Italy, in 1969.Since he was a child, he has been playing with colours, canvass and paintbrushes. , Thanks to his grandfather, maUriZio’s house was full of colours and art of all kind. He refuses to attend any art schools because he didn’t (and he doesn’t) want to enter in determinate outlines driven by rules: he creates everything that he dreams. The impact with Pop Art makes him collect all different kind of objects: from the simple shopping bag to the first Mac appeared on the market. Looking at them, maUriZio realized that they are able to give emotions, even when you do not turn them on: “Elaboratore Elettronico†is the beginning of his art: pull apart and reassemble with colours, oils, acrylic textiles and plastering so now the computer can spread emotions also when is off. In early 2000 maUriZio presents his works. He decided to bring his paintings to the most destructive environments possible: mills, junkyards or garages. The reason is to evaluate the contrasts between murky atmospheres and his extremely vivid colours. In these recent years, maUriZio continues to destroy and recreate but with the help of his jewels made with the technique of investment casting which brings to an higher level of “unique†his art. UzArt Exibitions The beginning of 2000 is the moment in which Maurizio “UZ†Baccili starts to expose his works: mills, junkyards or garages. The preference for these surrounds is linked to the contrasts that these places produce with his paintings. After few expositions he was called to expose in 2000 at the gala event “Children in Crisisâ€, where the honorary social chair was the Duchess of York: one of his work was auction. During the “Puccini Festival†, in 2001, maUriZio, dedicate “Un Baffo di Colore Musicale†to Maestro Giacomo Puccini. The painting then, was donated to the city of Torre del Lago (Maestro’s Home Town). At the same time an exposition took place in Villa Orlando. 2002 and 2003 are the years in which UZ exposes in Pietrasanta, the small Athens: an extremely artistic town based on sculptures made with the pure Carrara Marble. Hi passion, his feeling and his emotion are transmitted directly through his works: thin invisible nylon wires held his painting in Vicolo del Teatro (the most charming street in Pietrasanta). Mixing Paintings and Everyday Life Habits became a 24 hour exhibition. The 2005 is one of the most exciting years for maUriZio: Ibiza welcomes his works. Calle delle Virgen was the set for exposing, with the same philosophy used in Pietrasanta: people’s contact, transmitting emotions through colored not-animated objects and the surrounding of the moment. In 2006 the Luminal in Milan is the set for UZ’s works: His “Collezione Vinilica†was all over the space and each work “was played in the clubâ€. In these years maUriZio preferred to return back in the past concept for his expositions: playing with the contrast between his paintings and the ambiance or making the ambiance a part of his paintings!
