About Me

David is a talented young musician, excelling in violin, drum kit, tuned and untuned percussion. He is currently drummer for a notorious local soul/funk band, Lauren and The Trio, Tom Gee, The Manchester Scrotes and is the 'virtuoso' backing for The Robert Sudall Trio. David also held the position as principle percussionist for Bradford Youth Orchestra for a number of years as well being the drive behind a local jazz big band in baildon - 'The Baildon Nightflyers' with whom he still performs. He has supported the Bradford Youth Wind band, and has also dep'd for Bradford University Jazz Band, Ilkley Music Service Adult band, and Wilsden Brass band. David worked with Lauren and The Trio (Lauren Spink, Tom Gee and Jamie Moore) to produce their debut album (Freezing Hands) in which he wrote the horn parts too. He has worked on various tracks with Tom Gee, and frequently gigs/records with Bankside Studios and Chris 'Earl Tutu' Dawkins for a variety of local talent. David's latest developments now include working with The Manchester Scrotes (a gypsy/polish influenced jazz/rock fusion band) and starting up a second jazz trio and also a jazz/rock fusion band in the manchester area.David also shares a wide range of hobbies, including mountain biking, football and most outdoor sports. David enjoys art and is currently preparing to undertake an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. However, his intentions are to keep him busy gigging during this period.His current repetoire is spread across all 3 disciplines and includes: Violin: J.S Bach Partita No. 2 Allemande, Vivaldi 4 seasons - Spring. Xylophone/Mallets: Concertino for Marimba - Paul Creston (Vigourous and Calm to date!), Czardas - Vittorio Monti, Black and White Rag - George Botsford. Drum Kit - Kumi Na Moja (Simon Phillips), 'Whatever Happened to Jazz' and 'Fusion' (Rockschool G8 syllabus) a variety of tunes from The Rippingtons and much more!Also, David is now drummer of an exciting new jazz trio, with extremely talented organist/pianist - Robert Sudall (see www.robertsudall.com) and The Trio's brilliant bassist, Jamie Moore. This band have been going down very well with an ever increasing crowd at The Birches Pub in Eldwick.David is now also working with Tom Gee, Chris Dawkins and Bankside Studios. He was drummer for the backing band at the recent Baildon Carnival, featuring Chris on Guitar, Kenny on Bass, Tom also on guitar, and Matt Jones on backing vocals - with many talented young singers (including Tom) taking lead vocals.Myspace Layouts
