"Pioneers of Punk" the Film came out of a personal interest and passion to expose the side of the Punk Rock lifestyle that seems to get left out of all the documentaries, films and articles about what is NOW Society's largest current trend. It seems that they all want to focus on the Anger and the Political angst that became associated with the Punk movement, or that was the "publics perception" of Punk. For me gravitating to Punk Rock in the early 80's was about personal freedom an opportunity for Self Expression, Individuality and an identity with a movement that said "I am different than the rest" , I wasn't angry, I wasn't pissed off, I just wasn't a square that wanted to fit in or conform to society's standard of what a "model citizen" was and I didn't give a shit what anyone else thought of my style and way of thinking, but growing up I didn't see anger, violence and hostility as a resolve or an outlet and I certainly wasn't going to be a hippie although my parents were.So with that I set out to interview seminal contributor's, "Pioneers" to a movement that was once a "Sacred" core group on the fringe of society and has now become society's largest trend, fashion, fad!!! What was once the "Counter culture" is now the "culture", back in the "day" you wore "a badge of honor" to be in the punk movement, I wanted to get insight into what compelled these people into the Punk Movement and now what they think about the once "Sacred" and Hated, looked down upon, spit on, punk rock movement being the single largest style in america today.Just a NOTE: on the surface and more in an adolescent stage it seemed that Punk Rock was associated with a hairstyle or fashion statement, although I love the Punk Rock fashion, As you grow older the natural progression is that Punk Rock is more of A State of Mind, a set of standards or philosophy that you live by, one where by you had the confidence to exude your own identity and not feel the pull of society to conform or fit into simply for acceptance from peers. Their are many people in our Society today who have Lived that life who have Pioneered a path and never dawned a Mohawk, although the mohawk is fucking cool, but I have to say, the NoHawk is totally gay porn, either you have a hawk or you don't, having a full head of hair and pushing up the middle into a "NoHawk" not only doesn't fly, it is just flat out weak as hell !!!!!With that we give you The Pioneers of Punk
