Support Your Local Music Scene

About Me

Featured Band/Musician
As We Fade
Newly formed band from Syracuse...with very young members, including a 9 year old drummer. Cool? I think so. So when I was at their show (3/22) I didn’t quite know what to expect but was very surprised at the following they already had. People just loved these guys. Anyway... So Jimmy started singing accompanied by Matt on acoustic guitar, and wow! Beautiful voice, great melody... I was quite impressed. Keep an eye on these kids..got one heck of a future ahead of them.

*Please note: If you have my old ’support your local music scene’ profile as a friend.. it is no longer being updated and this one is replacing it.
My name is Suzanne. If any of you play locally or go to half the amount of shows that I do, I’m sure you know me. My love for the local music scene started in Junior year of high school. It started with a little band called Castor from Cortland, NY. Soon after I found The Degenerates (now Fairway) and Indira (now Aily’s Lyon) and was in love.
I mostly went to shows in Ithaca at first, seeing bands like Indira, Another Day Late, Seth Feldman, and The Degenerates. About a year later I discovered the amazing talent of Syracuse bands. Bands like Honor Bright, Anorexic Beauty Queen, Armory Demo, and Long Since Forgotten completely won me over. I can’t explain how much these bands have impacted the way I feel about my life and how much I want them to impact everyone else’s.
But of course, as time goes by, so do the venues. Syracuse has had all of the good venues taken away. Club Tundra and The Furnace used to bring the larger bands, now there is nothing. A place known as the Empty Cup even left. That place was my absolute favorite place in the world to be. No matter what, I was there at LEAST once a week. Luckily, they have been able to start back up again, now under the name Funk N’ Waffles.
I started this MySpace because of my pure love and passion for the local music scene. Nothing in this world makes me happier than seeing my friends on stage, and singing along to their songs that I love so much. I want everyone to feel the same way as I do and to notice the AMAZING talent that this state has to offer. Just because they aren’t rich and famous, doesn’t mean that these bands aren’t possibly some of the greatest bands their are. Listen to them, meet them, and i PROMISE, you will respect them.
If you are in a band from the CNY, Upstate, or Finger Lakes area and would like me to help promote your band, please send a message and invite. For those not in a band, only add this profile if you actually plan on going to shows or supporting the bands by other means. I’m not going to accept people from other areas just to be a number to add to their amount of MySpace friends.
I also take pictures for shows. Please go to my personal profile to see blogs with photos if you are interested in me taking photos for YOUR show. I do not charge, nor would I ever. I would, however, appreciate being on a guest list or something of the sort, but it is not necessary. I don’t take photos for profit, just for fun and to help the local bands that I love and support.
Any photos that I have taken are more than open for bands and fans to use an anyway they wish..on band profiles, personal profiles or for promotions. Contact me if you would like to have me send a photo without border and ’krizanek photography’ on the side to use for promotional purposes.
