The Cardinal

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am forty-three and have spent my life studying physics, archaeology, and many other pursuits both artistic and scientific. I live by the sea about an hour north of Los Angeles and I love the ocean air. I have medical issues that I deal with. I was diagnosed with lupus SLE about four years ago and it has been a swift adversary. I am one of the oddities-- a white guy in his thirties (as I was then) to get lupus SLE. Anyway it has made life challenging. Because I can no longer hold regular employment I donate my time and talent as an actor/director, performing strictly for those productions which are charity benefits of one form or another. We just did a musical revue to benefit Darfur, I am currently learning lines for another to benefit addiction recovery programs, and my Lupus Foundation benefit will be "Sweeney Todd" next year. I spend my time online, studying, and teaching whenever needful. I enjoy the Latin Mass, praying, candles flickering in colored glass votives, and the lulling sounds of Gregorian Chant.I deliberately chose an obscure branch of the Historic Undivided Church which had avoided falling under the sway of either Rome or Constantinople. We were driven into the North by the moslem hordes, then to these shores by the Soviets. We have no treasure, or beautiful buildings, or limousines, or million-dollar expense accounts. Our clergy, from the lowliest monk to His Holiness the Patriarch (he's basically the Pope), all support ourselves and provide for our flocks as well. I rose through the ranks and served as His Holiness's personal diplomatic representative for years, then retired from public life to form and govern the Order of Saint Gregory. I am a Metropolitan Archbishop, which is the same as a Cardinal, so my friends all call me The Cardinal...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people for friendship and more. I like adventurous, happy people who love good theater, good food, good health, good fun, old TV shows, old movies, new movies, the beach at sunset, people-watching, travelling (whether actual or virtual), reading and studying all manner of books and manuscripts and curios and artifacts from the deep past. I want to meet those with a deep and steadfast love of God and Christ and His Blessed Mother, and who can "think outside the box", theologically speaking. Let's admire Gothic stained-glass windows and shiver with delight listening to the thunder of a well-played pipe organ. Let's feel the deep sacredness of a Solemn High Mass in Latin, and be swept away into the sonorious Gregorian and Ambrosian Chants. And so very, very much more!

Religion and Secular Laws
