Formed from a conversation between founding members John, Dean and Dave, who all had been in heavier bands previously, looking to try something different musically to their previous efforts. Taking influence from many genres within the alternative scene, early jamming sessions led to tracks being written very quickly. After an early demo the band jumped straight into the studio to record their 1st ep, "Painting Pictures". From these sessions the bands sound developed from the raw early demos, with strings and piano being brought in during production. They knew this new direction needed to be achieved live aswell, which is where Graham joined the band to play keyboards. Giving the band a great new dynamic. From here the sound developed further and before long it was clear they needed to progress, this is where gaz joined on drums to complete the line up. Stwa are currently busy writing new material and touring where ever they can, so go check out a show!!!If you like the songs then you can buy our ep from www.stwa.bigcartel.com
