With a few months of lawyering under my belt, I find that my natural talents will only carry me so far. I must continue to broaden myself and to absorb as many new lessons as possible. When I'm not busting my butt in the office, I like to play guitar. When I am not wiped out after work, I do love to read, both novels and non-fiction, whatever piques my interest at the time. I am an amateur beer brewer, albeit I have not made the move to all-grain. My track record is decent. Out of ten batches, I've only had one disaster! Once I have my own garage and temperature-controlled fridge, I will move on to lagering and to all-grain brewing. Cheers!!!
I would like to meet the other Nicholas Hurston.

I would also like to meet all of the musicians that are my "friends"; Clarence Darrow's zombie; Margaret Thatcher ('cause power's sexy); Clive Barker; Tom; a medium who claims to have contacted Jim Morrison in the netherworld; Tim Burton; The creators of NERF and LEGO; Bob Dylan; Tenacious D; Matt Drudge; Drew Curtis; Beck; Ann Coulter (so I could smack the craggy bitch, torts claim be damned!); Bob Dobbs.
Rock generally (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Muse, Incubus, Pearl Jam, The Mars Volta, Pink Floyd, Cash, Phish, 2 Skinnee J's, Alice in Chains, Tool, Sublime, Morphine, Aerosmith, The Black Keys, They Might be Giants).I grew up playing jazz and concert music. Now I play guitar and most anything else that doesn't sound like murder when I try.I also like some hip hop (Talib Kweli, Jurrasic 5, The Roots, Q-Tip, Mos Def, KRS1), some jazz (Bela Fleck, Oteil and the Peacemakers, Soul Coughing), and even some of the instrumentals be they classical or modern. I'm willing to give most anything a chance. And live music is always the way to go.
Mitch Hedberg wasn't really a hero or anything. I just think that he was one of the funniest men alive. I got to see his show twice before he died and I met him once, got the signature. His humor never relied on crudeness, shock value or trite pop culture references. Master of the non-sequitir. I didn't make this video, but if I had, I promise it would have had better music.
