Mourning Son

In 2007 Mourning Son took life when BT moved to Wisconsin from California where he had been playing Hollywood shows, recording and touring on the West Coast. Upon his return to Wisconsin BT met up with Singer Songwriter Ben Baker who had sent him a message about rehearsing together. BT listened to his music and definitely liked what he heard. On NFL draft day Ben met BT to give him his disc. After listening to Ben's disc, BT quickly realized Ben was the singer he was looking for. The two starting rehearsing Ben's songs just to get a feel for how each other played. Ben was more Grunge and BT was more of a Metal sound, but the two different music styles worked very well together. Now to fit in the pieces. Ben already had a great sound going, but BT wanted alot of Drums in the new band. After a few auditions the guy for the job was filling in on Bass with the band. Ben's brother Andrew, who was playing Drums in his own band was a perfect fit for the band since they were looking for a guitar player, but also wanted more drums in the band. Not only would the band get their 2nd Guitar player, but they also got a 2nd drummer which fit in perfect with wanting more drums. The final piece would not be an easy one. After a few Bass auditions, Ben said he would just have one of his good friends come in and play the songs on Bass, just so everyone could hear the music with Bass. Eric previously had his own band where he sang and played guitar, but thought it would be fun to play some bass. Eric came in and nailed all the songs. Fortunately for the band, Eric made the switch to Bass and completed the line up that is Mourning Son today. Since that time Mourning Son has played numerous shows everywhere between Milwaukee and Chicago and hope to take the show on the road very soon!!! The band is currently writing, recording and working on a killer stage show. Just add drums is what BT says, but the new stage show will have more than just drums!!! Look for more great things from Mourning Son in 2009!!!
