About Me

Rob Durbin Trio
My main current project is my hammond organ trio. We play classic soul jazz mixed with hard edged stripped down breakbeat funk. You are listening to some recordings I made with my trio in April 2009. Our version of James Brown's Soul Power was recently featured on the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show. About Me
Hi, my name's Rob Durbin. I play guitar. I first started piano lessons at the age of four but sacked off the ivories to take up guitar at the age of six and never really looked back! I did both GCSE and A level music as a teenager in Shropshire and spent most of my spare time playing with my mates in various rock bands. In 1995 I moved to Leeds to do the BA Jazz Studies course at Leeds College of Music. Since graduating in 1998 I've done countless gigs in all types of venues ranging from concert arenas to the back of a fruit and veg wagon (don't ask!) Anyway, cheers for checking out my page. I don't mind playing any kind of music, but my favourite vibe is jazz, soul, blues and funk. I hope you like whatever is on my player. If you're in the area come check out a gig!
Peace!
