My Interests

Anything active! My recent hobbies include soccer, volleyball, bee (frisbee or disc golf), golf, hiking, camping, backpacking, skiing (whenever I can in this snow deficient state). When I can't be outside my time is pretty much comsumed by my friends. Anything from watching movies to shooting pool and drinking beer.

I'd like to meet:

Everybody.

Music:

All in all, just about anything that catches my attention. Usually bluegrass, classic rock, classical, pretty much anything acoustic with a guitar, and/or a piano, and an incredible voice. I like human talent, not the wonders of technology. I do, however, need the beat of some good old school rap, hip-hop, or techno every once in a while. Some of my favorites:Sim Redmond Band (local to Trumansburg, NY, check them out), Nickel Creek, Dave Matthews (mostly earlier and solo stuff, especially with Tim Reynolds), Acoustic Syndicate, Allison Krauss (anybody or anything she sings with, incredible), Jack Johnson, Indigo Girls, Van Morrison, Stevie Ray Vaughn

Movies:

I like movies, plain and simple. I like a variety of movies from lots of blood, right on down to chick flicks. I am not ashamed to admit that I liked The Notebook and cried at Forest Gump. Movies that I could watch anytime, anywhere: Shawshank Redemption, Braveheart, Goodfellas, 50 First Dates, Star Wars, Finding Neverland, Office Space, Princess Bride, Tombstone, Fly Away Home, Last of the Mohicans, Field of Dreams

Television:

I don't watch much TV at all. When it's not football or other sport, it's Scrubs or Survivor.

Books:

DaVinci Code/Angels and Demons, The Stand, Rogue Warrior (Richard Marcinko), A Pirate Looks at Fifty (Jimmy Buffet), Mitch Albom, Road Trip Nation, My Side of the Mountain, North Carolina Hiking Trails (4th Edition), RandMcNally's Road Atlas (1998 version)

Heroes:

My parents and my grandparents. Being that happy in life is true success.

My Blog

One of many reasons why I love North Carolina

So, it's really hard living 1200 miles away from your family (especially when somebody starts popping out babies), but I love this state.  I went swimming and bridge jumping yesterday, and spent ...
