At IndieMusicWorks.comMiles Apart Hi. This Is Doc of The Old School. The Old School Back in 2003 through 2006, I had the pleasure of participating in a newly formed band called “Miles Apart”. I had the opportunity to play with a group of fine musicians. The members were David Joel Carter from Oklahoma who was the the main song writer and I feel a gifted one at that. David and I shared lyric and music composition duties. David plays rhythm and lead guitar. He also played bass and was the main vocalist. In the songs bio I will detail song writer and credits. David now has a really cool band entitled Tex Nihilo. You can visit his band site at: Tex Nhilo Featuring David Joel Carter . He’s a character and his music is as unique as it is good. Willy Jo Parker from Great Britain, is as good a lead guitarist on the indie music scene as I ever heard. He also played rhythm guitar and sang back up vocals. Randy Perryman, also from Oklahoma, joined the band a little later. A very fine drummer indeed. Volker “Doc” Heigelmann from Florida, played all keyboards, some bass, and was also a lead vocalist along with backup vocals. Yours truly wrote some of the music, including lyrics. We went our separate ways for various reasons in 2006 but I felt our music was too good, though we were still learning the mixing process, to just go unnoticed. This is why I’m featuring “MILES APART” here. Though we were basically a blues, rock band, we experimented with different genres. Hope you enjoy the music as much as I had playing and helping in creating it. These guys were special to me and I sure miss them.
