About Me
COMPOSER / GUITARIST / PRODUCER /ARRANGER / VOCALIST / TRANSCRIBER----DOWN FOR TOURS , SESSIONS, FILM AND TV SCORING, PRE-PRODUCTION AND PRODUCTION SERVICES, LIVE MUSICAL DIRECTION, RECOMMENDATIONS FOR GOOD GEAR, RESTAURANTS AND CLIMBING AREAS, AS WELL AS SOOTHING WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT. KIND TO ANIMALS, AND DOESN'T TAILGATE MOTORCYCLES.Having 'dabbled' on piano from infancy, Byron officially commenced his musical escapades on guitar at five and began formal education on piano at nine. Fast-forward to twenty one, when he went on to study guitar and improv under Russ Tuttle, and attended Dick Grove's composing / arranging program in Studio City . There, he narrowly survived exposure to instructors Sammy Nestico (orchestration), Diz Mullins (copying), Lalo Schiffrin (Thematic development), Henry Mancini (music business), Tom Scott, etc.As a player, he is extremely versatile and equally adept at all styles from Jazz / Fusion to Country, Big Band to Funk / R&B and all Rock styles, Blues to Latin to slide and acoustic forms.Having played in rhythm sections of all styles since age ten, he is as at home in the studio as on stage. With perfect pitch and a 'team player' approach to music and life, he's a good trouble shooter to have around. All this has made Byron the guitarist of choice on projects with such great studio cats as David Garfield, John Pena, Dave Goldblatt, Gary Novak, Alphonso Johnson, Tower of Power Rhythm Section, Tower of Power Horns, Everett Harp, Will Kennedy and a slew of others.RECORDING CREDITS:Tiffany, "Was it Good for You"Michael MacDonald, "You Let Me Go"Michael McKnight "Let Freedom Ring" and " Chosen One"Jerry Bell, "April Love" (Pausa Records)Corbett Wall, Corbett Wall Album (EMI)Barry Coffing, (Egress / Warner)Billy Davis, Jr., "Time for a Change Now" (Indie)Roz Streisand, "For the Last Time"John Hart, "John Hart" (Motown)Halfway to Dharma (Indie)Cecil Shaw, "New You" (Motown)Morgan Yagi, "Morgan Yagi" (Indie)Terry Glenny (Indie)Herschel Kennedy (Warner)Billy Kidd (Warner)Color of Sky (Indie)Jean-Michel Byron "Soul Sister" (Indie)Kozz Kozinski, "Doggie Music"Outdoor Sports Music (Indie)Lisa Torres (Indie)Ian Harrison "Ian Harrison" (Indie)Mattel "Polly" JingleDisney---Assorted JinglesFILM CREDITS:Frostbite---20th Century Fox
