NEW Dignity 2009 Myspace Mix:
Syntripital is graduated from engineering school and now firmly established in the Queens County (Maryland) and now it's time to let serendipity reign in the the Syntripital studio! The original Dignity was inspirational and expressed a deep longing in all of us. It seemed fit to dress this song in new musical garments that express joy and jubilation to contrast the sorrows of this world. Dive (New Upload) & Dive Concept Loop
At many times composing in the studio you'll serendipitously give birth to an endearing musical idea or expression. It may not have a "commercial" character about it, but you find yourself in love with it, even with all it's professional lackings. The "Dive" concept loop is just that to me. I did do a fully blown out more "commercial" rendering of the concept (The newly uploaded Dive Song) which is also endearing, but there something special about the original concept loop of "Dive" that means alot to me. It's like the Universe gave me a little gift in the studio that day. There is a normalized full spectrum version to this on my hard drives, but this particular recording had emphasis on midrange frequencies to unveil the hauntingly ghostly character within the sonic framework.
Western World (Condensed Version)
[New Bipolar Hipster Bar Remix]
{.5=Dark Aggressive}+{.5:Joyful Ethereal Beauty}
The Western Word "Bipolar" remix revolves around a major and the relative melodic minor chordal hemispheres. If you listen closely to the chordal structure of the song you'll notice a very interesting thing about the tonality of the piece, the fundamental bass structure determines which key the song resides, by one note, even though the dense chordal structure remains the same between the two tonal hemispheres. The fun thing about using the melodic minor tonal structure is that it offers the means to incorporate some very cool substitutional chords within Western World's functional progression. I think I'll do a remix some time soon to exploit these substitutional chords to obtain a more dramatic expression of Western World.
The song's first half sounds freak'n awesome and dark, whereas the latter half maintains the original Western World's joyful ethereal beauty. Also the new mix has better spectral dynamics then the previous version.

Your Lucky Day:
I had so much fun programming Lucky Day! Typically in the studio a serendipitous moment will which will be the causation of a new song concept, but Your Lucky Day song went from ordinary to extraordinary when AFTER I developed the initial concept, I inadvertently began singing over the track through overdrive and distortion settings until I hit the perfect effects setting along with the perfect vocal motif to produce that HUGE KICK ASS SOUND you hear in the beginning and end of the composition. That's right! That HUGE KICK ASS SOUND you hear is actually my voice going "Doo! Doo! Doo! Doo! Doo! Doo! Doo! Doo!"
