Inspired by the dominance of Beard Team USA at the 2007 World Beard and Moustache Championships , three drinking buddies decided to stop shaving and do their part to help the US stay competitive in the beard and moustache game. Realizing the Capital District’s untapped potential to be a haven for the unshaven, they figured others might be interested and formed The Albany Beard & Moustache Federation.Established in January of 2008, the goal of the Albany BMF is to promote goodwill and solidarity amongst the Beard’d and Stache’d of the mighty Cap Dis.
