Dalton Travis Gray was born listening to the greats of country such as George, Alan, Merle, and Clint, and he started his journey pursuing traditional country at 14. Hosting open mic at the legendary Hills cafe, performing in many famous central Texas Honky-tonks such as Copeland dancehall, the Cotton Club, Cheatham St. Warehouse and joining Country Line Radio with magazine editor and host T.J. Greaney were some of his early experiences in the business at 15 and 16 years old. When T.J. heard Dalton's voice and witnessed his passion he gave his good friend Kevin Fowler a call. Dalton Travis was instantly employed on his ranch. One day after work he pulled out the guitar on the pond and played a few for Kevin Fowler and Mark McKinney. That led to his opening act in March, 2007. Since then Dalton Travis has played in multiple bands of which one was a duo. The fire has never gone out. Now he is working on his first independent album with producer Mark Tokach who is a well renowned guitar player in Texas. "Performing and inspiring is my passion and I hope to bring some entertaining, substance-filled music to all." - Dalton Travis Gray
Playing original songs has allways been a must do for Dalton Travis Gray. His experience and insight in life has paved the way for his skill in songwriting. Cowriting and collaborating with the well renown George Ensle and participating in the Austin Songwriters Group taught Dalton Travis that writing for a business and writing for yourself are two different things that , when brought together, bring success. "I believe that songwriting is a direct expression of human experiences and the inner self. Those feelings and experiences cannot be taken away. Music is power. And country music is, in my opinion the best medium for expressing the life that many people can and or desire to connect to. My life is a country song. A message mixed with a good time is what it's all about."
"There are those who wish and there are those who make their own success. This 18-year-old seems to belong in the business. This young man is going to do great things." -T.J. Greaney
