About Me

DON'T is back again.. this time with an excellent follow up to rumpus room vol 1 + 2 (dont 007 +dont 008). Again the tracks were selected carefully, each of them strong on personality and waiting to burst out and put the willies up anyone who believes that techno can be pigeonholed. Cue Bjorn Svin (of mand over board fame) and a brooding monster of a tune that briefly saw a release on an LP in 1999 and was included on La Monde aka. Len Faki's 'at the wheels of steel' mix cd the following year. Believe that this track is a killer.. one of those inspired pieces of techno that sticks in your head for days after hearing it for the first time.. Next up label boss Jerome Hill lets his bass out in the comedic 'Rel und Pol' , a dancefloor workout with a syncopated speech running throughout.. Flip over for Rob Stow and 'i'm going to kill her' ...put simply.. This is Nasty (in a nice way).. a riff that tears you a new one and edits and tricks galore, this ones gonna give the speakers a battering! Last but certainly not least, Switzerland's Ki-Yota from mercurochrome and Mental Industries steps up to deliver us an apocalyptic anthem with wowwow bass, that swiss percussion and lead riffs all snaking around and finally building to a satisfying climax.. over and out...VARIOUS ARTISTS : "THE RUMPUS ROOM VOL. 3" : DON'T 013Here's some samples of the tracks..a1. Bjorn Svin "Heated & Muted" a2. Jerome Hill "Rel und Pol" b1. Rob Stow "I'm going to kill her" b2. Ki-Yota "Exchange"Jerome got his turntables in 1990 after being inspired by the pirate radio sounds of London. He began buying hip hop, house, breakbeat and early techno . In 1994 he hooked up with infamous London soundsystem "JIBA" and further honed his recognisable scratching and mixing style in the warehouses of London.. Ever Underground he played on 1990's soundsystems including Jiba, Beldlam, Virus, Chiba City, Immersion, Dubious, Desert Storm, Toe2Head, Underground Sound, The Far Side, Bezerkas; was resident for Stonka and Trancentral and still pops in whenever possible to Malfeiteurs, Manik and EveryoneSound Always following his own musical path , constantly sniffing out exciting new (and old) tracks to add to his sets whilst never paying attention to current trends, and armed with a broad knowledge of music and an enormous record collection that reflects this, Jerome will rock a crowd in a different way from the norm. Expect the unexpected! He is resident DJ at UGLYFUNK club night now based in London and plays regularly accross the globe with multiple international appearances including: TRESOR, HOUSE OF GOD, CIRCUITO, DOGMA, HOLODECK, COINOPERATED, BLOC WEEKEND, as well as tours and visits to Brazil, Japan, Malta, Venezuala, Spain, Italy, France, Holland, Portugal, Switzerland, Ireland, N.Ireland, Belgium, Czech, Poland, and of course the UK. He managed London..s "Trackheads" and "Dragon Discs" record shops in Camden Town for 7 years and is half of GROOVE ASYLUM, (the other half being Rob Stow) who produced the sought after DON..T001+002 and a host of other releases. Jerome runs his own label DON'T ( www.dont-recordings.com ) since 2000, releasing maverick techno music.D I S C O G R A P H Y GRAVITATION003 GROOVE ASYLUM (1998) GRAVITATION004 GROOVE ASYLUM (1999) HYDRAULIX003 DAVE THE DRUMMER & DJ JEROME (1999) DON'T001 GROOVE ASYLUM (2000) HYDRAULIX005 GROOVE ASYLUM (2000) UBER003 GROOVE ASYLUM (2000) DONT002 GROOVE ASYLUM (2001) AUDIO.31 POUNDING GROOVES VS DJ JEROME (2001) YOLK005 DRUMMER & JEROME (2002) ARTEFACT002 ARTEFACT ,scratches by JEROME HILL (2002) DONT008 feat GROOVE ASYLUM (2005) DONT010 feat JEROME HILL remix (2006) VICTIM005 feat JEROME HILL & LuSINda (2006) MOTRONIC002 J-Lab feat.
