About Me

The name's Bree. I have a good brain and I'm sarcastic. I love playing and watching sports. Soccer was always my favorite growing up, but I like football and baseball too - Go Cubs! Music makes me happy (and sad) and I listen to indie, rock, alternative, punk, a little folksie stuff... you get it.
I work at an advertising agency where I started in Public Relations, but now I'm a Copywriter. No, I don't put tiny, circled Cs on objects... I write words. I always had a great interest in photography, although I'm not that great at it. For whatever reason, I love taking pictures of trees.
I have random life goals and I've already completed a few, like visiting Switzerland and watching the sun rise on the east coast and set on the west coast of Florida in the same day. I really value the little things in life. I have more random goals, just ask.
Creativity, spontaneity and kindness are three of my top characteristics, and I look for similar traits in my friends. I tend to push people away at times, and that bites me in the ass. Imagine that -- history repeating itself... hmm.
I put Elaine to shame when I dance by myself in my room. I read. I hang out with friends. I yell at the TV during Cubs games and The Amazing Race. I drive 'round town, hoping to find secrets. I fool people into thinking I can write well.
I love Chicago and would like to live there. Locally, I enjoy aimlessly walking around Barnes & Noble or hanging out at Lizzy's or I-Bar.
In a nutshell... I love green. I like sliding in the mud during rainstorms. I don't like soda. I'm allergic to cats. I'm going to move to Chicago. I love my family. I think my feet are big. I'm crafty. I love spiral mac 'n cheese.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Old friends and new ones, too.

Music:

Right now... Wilco, Ryan Adams, Mohawk Lodge, Two Hours Traffic, Mason Jennings, Guster, Kings of Leon, The Format, Travis, The Shins, The Byrds, Jeremy Fisher

Movies:

I'm a big movie fan. I love watching everything from The Usual Suspects to Amelie, and Die Hard III to whatever's playing on TCM. I avoid being the stereotypical girl - not on purpose, just turned out that way - so I don't like "chick flicks." I'd rather spend my movie-time watching action-adventures, dramas and anything else well-written. I am, however, a sucker for John Cusack films.

Television:

Arrested Development was the best show ever, Lost, Amazing Race, The Office, Family Guy, Simpsons, Robot Chicken, The West Wing, Daily Show, Dirty Jobs, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (because it makes me cry happy tears) and anything on Turner Classic Movies, American Movie Classics, Discovery Channel & History Channel

Books:

Wicked, Blink, Freakonomics, The Tipping Point, Chronicles of Narnia, mental_floss mags & books, Michael Crichton, Roald Dahl, Dan Brown, David Sedaris

My Blog

a sad revelation.

Time flies when you don't write anything about it.It's been 364 days since I last blogged, and that is shameful and pathetic. Some writer I am... chock it up to being busy, burnt out or just plain laz...
