German Luger dons a name derived from loyalty, respect, and pure talent. Hailing from New York City's notorious Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, Danny Ortiz aka German Luger aka G Luger has become the artist to watch in the Hip-hop and Reggaeton game. Credited with a unique sound and identity, Luger, a Puerto Rican MC, before being discovered by Redman, Rockwilder, and the DJ Twinz, was a bi-lingual mc mainly rapping in spanish over Hip-hop beats. Due to the demand at the time, Luger was pushed into rapping the majority of his lyrics in english. Luger's is greatly influenced and most notably compared to the fallen superstar Big Pun. Luger also admires the work of Kool G Rap, KRS One, the Notorious BIG, Nas, Jay-Z and Dr. Dre, which have helped him to create an exclusive lyrical style while building on the foundation laid by some of hip hops greats.
The streets are not only watching, but they are listening to Luger, who has hit the ground running since his start in 1999. Since then, Luger has contributed to several projects and released his mixtape: The Gutter, Gully and GullableChapter 1 featuring Redman, Rockwilder, Icarus, and DJ Twinz and Chapter 2 in 2005.
Luger's foray into the hip hop industry has given way to a highly anticipated career. Foreshadowing the tragic events of 9/11, Luger produced the powerful track "End of the World" on that historic date. In addition, Luger was introduced to the masses through a freestyle accompanied by Funkmaster Flex and featuring Redman and Icarus. The freestyle grabbed a lot of attention and earned airplay on New York's ..1 hip hop radio station, Hot 97. The next three years served as a time for Luger to meticulously watch the hip hop game, listen to his competition and perfect his skills in order to plan his attack. In 2003, Luger reintroduced himself to the industry with more maturity, and even more undeniable proof of his skills as an MC. To ensure control over his material and career, Luger alongside his partner launched his own company, R.I.C.O. (Rap Influenced Cash Organization). Luger then released his mixtape The Gutter which was highlighted on both on-air and online in MTV News Mixtape Mondays area and various media publications. The industry again started to sit up and take notice of Luger's proficiency as an MC. Luger's arsenal-carrying name is no simple coincidence. His distinctive flow, vocabulary and ability to hit every pocket of the beat, puncture the minds of both listeners and critics. The Last 2 years, Luger was named MTV News.coms MCs and DJs on the Rise 2004, and was showcased in the October 2004 issue of The Sources closely read Unsigned Hype column. Luger was one of only five MCs named as Much Musics Hip Hop Artists to Watch in 2003. He also was featured as the first unsigned Latin artist in the New York Posts Tempo section, and television channel, Mun2's The Roof. The future will hold many more accolades as Luger etches a permanent spot in the music industry as both an artist and an entrepreneur. .. With that said, Luger has been patiently waiting, and his time has come.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
New York, NY – Monday August 6th, 2007
Just when you thought Latin lyrical assassin G. Luger was removed from the spotlight the powerful emcee proves all wrong yet again with his first official street single and video for the heater "Oh No." The Brooklyn rapper has been busy in the lab wrapping up his debut album - with a major announcement coming soon – releasing the first of many bombs to detonate.
"It's been a crazy year for the kid. We're almost done with the album"said G. Luger. "For the first single I wanted to put a concept out there that defines my action and meaning for doing what I do. The first joint is called, "Oh No," tells a story of a Brooklyn Latin rapper in love with Her, (Hip Hop) after years of chasing the popular culture. Hip-Hop hasn't been giving the attention he (being me in this case) seeks from her, so outta frustration the rapper cheats on Hip Hop with Reggaeton. As previously stated, my style is southpaw so while the rest are expecting right turns, I’m surprising 'em with a left.
G Luger also takes the time to elaborate on his anticipated hip-hop debut: "The name of the album is still being decided but rest assured it'll be a classic. I'm working with new fresh producers the game has
never heard of before. It's gonna be mainly hip-hip joints with a few twist and turns that I’m sure all genres will dig it."
In the next coming weeks fans can expect to see and hear more from G. Luger as the "Oh No" directed clip by lensman Greg Kaplan (Warner Bros. /Roadrunner Records) makes it way to a host of major media platforms. The video, mostly shot in Luger's native Brooklyn neighborhood, will make its debut on a variety of major media platforms in the next coming weeks.

AND1 has chosen three of G. Luger's tracks that aired as background music on the ESPN Streetball series this month. AND1 chose one hip hop track called, "Alter Thug,' and two Reggaeton tracks. "Prendelo," then later submitting another called, "Menea."
And1 Consultant, Joshua Landis ( Extra Point Marketing) stated, "The reason we chose G's tracks especially the Reggaeton, in particular, was simple. We were looking for a different sound that contained a lot of energy and bounce. G. Luger's music was perfect for the criteria we were looking to fill. G's music just jumped out at me, it was hard to deny." AND1 will also use the hip-hop, "Alter Thug," track for HotSauce's StreetBall DVD. Due to be released in Feb 2007...
