I started out my working life using an Atari ST and Calamus, doing basic DTP. I moved on briefly to a PC before going to UCE to study Visual Communications where I was introduced to Mac's, Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark.Photoshop was the package that opened my eyes to what could really be achieved with computers and after the initial mouse-menu stress I fell in love with Apple Macs. After some expert guidance from my photoshop mentor, Rolz, I learnt that the key to being creative was to explore. Doing this has helped me pick up skills along the way in other packages such as Illustrator, Quark, InDesign, Dreamweaver and hand-coding HTML.I've focused mostly within the new media area of design, working on two national lifestyle magazines as Assistant Designer contributing to both their websites and editorial.During this time we reviewed d n b tunes and events and a lot of the photographs on this profile are from those days. We were pushing the d n b but not all our reviews made it into the magazines along with interviews with XRS and Marcus & Calibre... but we did try!I worked alongside the Games Editor for a total of 5 years across both mags writing games reviews for handheld titles.I've spent the last 6 years learning web design and last year learnt XHTML and CSS to offer better accessibility to my work.I have basic Flash skills and am now planning to explore this area more along with Actionscript.....
