"JAZZHOT Compacts on Line" chronicle (november 2005)-------------------------------------------------------

e is a beautiful disc of accordion-jazz of a young musician who knows what means the word swing. It is so rare nowadays where, in certain schools, one is unaware of even until the difference between groove and swing, that that deserves to be announced. With two large titles jazzmen, outgoing of the current production, Horace Silver (“Safariâ€) and Steve Swallow (“Ladies in Mercedesâ€), the accordionist Marc Leseyeux chose to frame its own compositions shows that he can choose his repertory. This knowledge of the jazz, he also shows it while being accompanied by a very beautiful rhythmic section, sounding completely jazz, and by the guitarist Bruno Bellemin who combines elegance of the play and good taste. When with the nine compositions of Marc Leseyeux, they are always sensitive, whatever the rate/rhythm (...). The roots of the accordion music are not forgotten in this CD which makes think, per moments, so that made formerly Gus Viseur. Doesn't it begin badly, not?-------Michel Bedin-------------------------------------------------------

"JAZZHOT Compacts on Line" chronicle (july-august 2005)----------------------Marc Leseyeux brings a stone moreover to the rehabilitation of the accordion, with the reaffirmation which this instrument does not belong only to the past. He has his universe clearly: sometimes type-setter of all the pieces, with two exceptions, one finds under his fingers the character singing and luminous instrument (“La Capricieuseâ€, “Swinguetteâ€, “Valse à frissonsâ€), this musette which belongs to the unconscious French collective, and the percussions sometimes Latinizing give a side almost dancing (“Ladies in Mercedesâ€) but the universe of Leseyeux is primarily urban, a little sinks and hard, sometimes melancholic person. His style, which comes very close to sometimes jazz-fusion, is very well been useful by Bruno Bellemin (guitar) of which the speech, always interesting, and the beautiful major and air sound (“Ellipseâ€) bring a second lighter and poetic voice. The other musicians are in unison for this personal record made with heart.Anne Moyon.
