My son, keep your father’s command, And do not forsake the law of your mother. Bind them continually upon your heart; Tie them around your neck. "YOU ARE THE LIGHT THAT SHINES IN OUR PRESENT DARKNESS" Surrender to the life of God, surrender to the Lord, Surrender to His will and to the power of His word, Surrender to His sovereign care and to His sovereign dealings, Surrender to His blessings, His compassion and His healings. Surrender to His faithfulness that never proves untrue, But in the heat of tests and trial, shades and cover you, Surrender in the darkness to the Light that never dies, But shines its truth in darkness for the weeping, blinded eyes.

Surrender to His mercy, His forgiveness, grace and peace, For only in surrender can all wars be made to cease, And only in surrender will your spirit and the soul, Belong to Him, be one with Him, become fulfilled and whole. Surrender to His touch as He renews, rebuilds, restores, The beauty and design of life He promised would be yours, For prisoners of war are crowned and called His chosen ones, And are given a heavenly kingdom where they reign as royal sons.

Fear not to be defeated by this One whose gracious hand Waits only for surrender to the goodness He has planned, For hearts that He has conquered know what it means to sing, "O grave, where is thy victory, O death, where is thy sting?"

Arise from self-surrender as in yielding you believe, And walk in triumph onward with new power to receive, As coming unto Him from whom eternal waters flow, You drink the priceless blessing only yielded hearts can know.By Ruth
