Prepare yourself for comedy with attitude, thanks to Anthony Spano, New Jersey based comedian and actor. Anthony, among other things, is a lover of sports and music (with a passion for both that can lead to frustration & some mild forms of anger) a reviewer of current world events and a self admitted road rager. Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, where only the strong survive, Anthony was the youngest of 3 brothers, a product of old world Italian parents. Growing up, he was your typical city boy taking part in some of his favorite past times including drinking in the school yard, night clubbing and the occasional bar brawl while maintaining his comic sense of humor.
Anthony has always had a knack for making people laugh, Since I was a kid I would always tell jokes, create characters and funny voices for my friends and make them laugh. After finishing High school and graduating from New Jersey City University in Jersey City with a B.S. in business administration, Anthony soon found out that after 17 years of corporate raiding, life in corporate America was not for him. In the last 3 years Anthony has established himself as a powerful comedian through original stand-up performances. To attempt to define Anthony Spano could prove disastrous so shut it.
Anthony has played numerous venues in and around the tri-state area. He has worked with Artie Lange, Nick DiPaolo, Rev. Bob Levy, Jim Florentine, K.C. Armstrong, Yucko the clown and Dan Dan the Parody Man of the Howard Stern Radio Show. Other comics Anthony has had the privilege of working with (pictured below) include Bobby Collins, Joseph Anthony, Joey Kola, Mike Marino, Carl LaBove, Bob Nelson, Jackie The Jokeman Martling, Angel Salazar, Otto & George,Vic DiBitetto and Rich Vos. He is currently a regular at Uncle Vinnies Comedy Club in Point Pleasant Beach New Jersey. He has played the Comic Strip Live, Gladys and Club Ha in New York City, Banana's Comedy Club in Hasbrouck Heights New Jersey and Poughkeepsie New York, the Stress Factory in New Brunswick and Rascals on the Hudson in Jersey City.
