Mississippi Leg Hounds

About Me

The Mississippi Leg Hounds are anything but your typical cover band. They play music they love which runs the gamut from down and dirty blues to classic rock n' roll. On a given night they will treat the audience to the most diverse selection of carefully chosen tunes by artists as varied as, Willie Dixon, Albert Collins, Freddie King, The Allman Brothers, Cream, The Rolling Stones, Dire Straits, Jimmy Thackery, Robin Ford, Marshall Tucker and countless others. Once in a while they might even be coaxed into doing something more aggressive from Black Sabbath or AC/DC even though it might be a bit outside of their standard fare. Most importantly, these guys like to improvise and stretch out rather than phone-in the same performance again and again.
Colin Loman is a Chicago style blues guitar player who is versatile enough to cover a lot of other musical territory. He also happens to have one of the best rock/blues voices around. Just listen to a few of the sample tunes above and you'll quickly see what I mean. Both Colin and Jim Korn (bass) have gained tremendous improvisational experience by hosting weekly jam sessions that feature a wide range of players on different instruments doing all sorts of impromptu material. Rounding out the trio is Gedal Lustig, a talented drummer whose internal metronome locks effortlessly on to just about anything he hears. Together they make up one musically addictive ensemble. If you have a musical bone in your body, you'll want to check them out.
The Mississippi Leg Hounds are currently booking shows for Spring/Summer 2009.
