Carlos is originally from Mexico so his Latin influence in music is very strong. His major influences are from a wide range of styles such has: Scott Joplin, Ernesto Lecuona, Ernesto Nazareth, Michel Camilo, Mario Ruiz Armengol, George Gershwin, Ignacio Cervantes, Tom Jobim, Chick Corea, Astor Piazzola, Chucho Valdez, Cesar Camargo Mariano, etc.
