Jorge Bravo was born in Santiago, Chile. He has a unique style of composition and performance, which demonstrates a wide range of influences from classical guitar and flamenco to jazz and Latin American styles.
After working for more than 10 years with renowned Chilean flamenco dance companies and musicians, he moved to the UK in 2005 where he has been giving concerts and workshops across London and beyond. Internationally, he has played in a diverse range of venues across Chile, Mexico, Pakistan, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Morocco and the UK.
As a flamenco guitarist, Jorge Bravo has recorded three CDs of his own compositions. Currently he works as musical director and composer with Carambita Flamenco. With Carambita, he works for the arts educational charity Live Music Now!, touring the UK and abroad giving interactive workshops and performances. Together with the dancer and choreographer Natalia Garcia-Huidobro, Carambita recently premiered in London their new show "Desde el Silencio".
Jorge's talents were internationally recognised in June 2006 when he won first prize in the ‘best non-Spanish guitarist’ category, at the Niño Ricardo International Guitar Competition, held in Murcia, Spain.
In 2007, along with the drummer Demi Garcia, he formed the Jorge Bravo Quartet - a new jazz/fusion compositional project - soon to be performing in London.
Jorge Bravo (1973) nace en Santiago de Chile. Posee un estilo de composición e interpretación únicos, abarcando un rango de influencias musicales que van desde la guitarra clásica y el flamenco al jazz y la guitarra sudamericana.
Después de trabajar por mas de 10 años junto a renombradas compañÃas de de danza flamenca y destacados músicos chilenos, Jorge se radica en Londres donde desde 2005 ha dado conciertos y talleres a través de Inglaterra y paÃses como México, Irlanda, Pakistán, Italia, España, Belgica, Marruecos, Irlanda y el Reino Unido.
Ha grabado 3 discos como solista y participado en diversas producciones musicales. Actualmente es compositor y director musical de Carambita Flamenco, agrupacion con la cual trabaja para la agencia educativa Live Music Now!, dando conciertos y talleres en R.U. Recientemente Carambita Flamenco estreno en Londres "Desde el Silencio", trabajo realizado con la bailaora y coreografa Natalia Garcia-Huidobro.
En junio de 2006 su trabajo guitarristico y composicional se vio internacionalmente reconocido al obtener el primer premio - categorÃa "Mejor Guitarrista No-Español"- en el Primer Concurso Internacional De Guitarra Flamenca Niño Ricardo celebrado en Murcia, España.
En 2007, junto al baterista Demi GarcÃa forma Jorge Bravo Quartet, un nuevo proyecto composicional de jazz- fusión pronto a estrenarse en Londres.
