Hi, thanks for visiting my page.I have been playing music for many years, and perform regularly with the Hammond organ trio - Organics and The Phil Ware Trio.I began studying drums in Dublin with Conor Guilfoyle and later attended the Drummers Collective in New York, where my teachers were Kim Plainfield and Bobby Sanabrias; previous teachers have included Jeff Ballard, Ben Perowsky, Matt Wilson, Elliot Zigmund and Keith Copeland. Recently I finished a study period in Havana, Cuba with the great percussionist/ drumkit player Jose Eladio.I have performed at numerous jazz clubs & festivals worldwide and have had the pleasure of playing with International jazz musicians such as:Bill Carrothers (piano) Ronnie Cuber (Baritone Sax.) Ulf Wakenius (Guitar) Ian Shaw (Vocalist/Pianist), Jesse Davis (Saxophone) Guy Barker ( Trumpet ) Jim Mullen (guitar), Bobby Watson (alto) Tim Ries (Saxophone) Jason Rigby (Sax) Giovanni Mirabassi (Piano) Ron Anthony (Guitar). Back in Eire, I have worked with Van Morrison, jazz guitarist Louis Stewart, vocalist Honor Heffernan and Dave Geraghty (BellX1).In 2008, I was selected to perform with the European Colours Jazz Orchestra in Italy. In addition to recording and performing work I currently teach drumkit and ensemble performance on the BA Degree in Jazz studies at Newpark Music Centre in Dublin. In 2008, I became an endorsed artist with the Cymbal manufacturer Bosphorus Cymbals.In early 2007, I began to lead my own trio with the U.S. pianist/composer Bill Carrothers. With four national tours and a successful CD entitled 'Common Ground' under our belts, We are launching a new trio record with the jazz label Fresh Sounds New Talent in June 2009...The album is entitled ' Zeitgeist' and features original compositions from all the members of the trio.
