Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, DJ Ryan Middleton has been spinning vinyl since the age of 17. Ryan states, “ever since I borrowed my friend’s (DJ Shawn Caesar) turntables, learned how to hook them up and blend records, I’ve been a musical junkie.â€Ryan is just that, a “musical junkieâ€. He began his DJ career by just blending house records and making tapes for his friends. Then during his sophomore year at Towson University, Ryan obtained an internship at WXYV in Baltimore, enhanced his hip-hop, R & B, and reggae collection, and the rest is history. “I was mixing on the air six days a week for about 4 yearsâ€. However, in 1996 WXYV decided to change musical formats, and Ryan had to move on. Ryan continues, “That’s when WPGC brought me in for their weekend mix shows, and that lasted for a few yearsâ€.DJ Ryan Middleton is most widely known in the Baltimore/Washington area for his hip-hop creativity and house music blends, but he has also traveled as far as Santa Barbara, California to move a crowd. Ryan adds, “I’ll admit, traveling and spinning records out of state is fun, but I would love to bring a better appreciation for good music, especially house music, back home. With the help of other good jocks in Baltimore (Spen, Oji, Pope, Thommy D., Lisa Moody, Soulgiver Jerome Hicks, Ultra Nate, Geoffrey C. and many more), this mission can be accomplished. I'd also like to get more involved in the production side of things."Ryan currently spins house at Club 347 with DJ Biskit on occasion, and at iBar and Ziascos.Previous venues include The Paradox, HammerJack's, Louie Louie's, Dinosaurs, The Depot, Eden's Lounge, Sky Lounge, and XS.
