I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)A short abridged history......Where to start....?Hardware started in the early 90s.....1993 to be precise. Martin Hawthorn (Loud, PADD & Excalibur) & Paul Solynskyj (Excalibur) joined forces again to create a dark and bleak sounding rock band that at the time was against the grain of most of the rock/metal music that was floating about. After a short spell checking local musicians out, the line up was completed & Aynsley Dickinson, Greg David & Andrew Hoult joined ranks. No time was wasted in piecing together a collection of songs to unleash on the public.Throughout their time, Hardware played relentlessly throughout the land & soon gained a reputation for being an incendiary live act. Demos were made, toilets were played & the band were signed by Bulletproof Records in early 1996. The band enlisted Simon Efemey to produce their debut release ’Race Religion & Hate’ at The Windings studio in Ffrwd near Chester. After stinking the studio out with tremendous arse gas emanating mainly from Efemey, Dickinson & Hawthorn....and recording some tunes....the band then went back out on the road. The EP was released August 12th 1996 and garnered great reviews....4Ks in Kerrang-back when Kerrang wasn’t a big pile of shit. Soon after its release,Hardware joined Amorphis & Therion on a full European tour. Fast forward a year,after a journey fraught with mishap & Spinal Tap like pathos, the band played what was to be their last gig in Jesolo, Italy. Soon after arriving home-the band called it quits-jaded at the musical climate at the time.So what of Hardware today? Well Aynsley is currently playing drums for Rise To Addiction & Solj is guitar teching his way around Europe.Where’s the rest I hear you cry? Fuck knows.....
