Marnie Alton

Actress, singer, and songwriter Marnie Alton, is currently starring in Exes & Ohs for the Logo Network. Marnie is in the studio with acclaimed producer Michael Lloyd writing songs for her upcoming debut album and will go into production on the second season of Exes & Ohs in the fall.
Any taste I have in music is credited to my mama. She would regularly appear at my bedroom door (given the fact that the only stereo we had was in my room thanks to babysitting funds) with a handful of LP's and a need to educate me about 'real' music. Never worried about the fact that it was a school night, we would spend hours dissecting 'The Greats'. Ahhh the days of Joni (her Blue album is my idea of perfection), Janis (you don't get more raw), Dylan (need I say more), Phoebe Snow, Emmylou Harris, James Taylor, Carol King, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Linda Ronstadt...the list goes on... More than once I remember leaving her side because I had to catch the school bus. To me lyrics were stories, poetry, journeys. By age 12 I was exposed to the emotional struggles and triumphs far beyond my maturity level... hmmm... wonder why my best subject was always Drama? I still seek truth through music, my own and others. As a struggling actor therapy was not a luxury I could afford, so I grabbed a guitar and tried to make my own something 'real'.
