Make-Shift Queen?!?!?!?! Thank GOD for a mama who knew her way around a sewing machine!!! When I was a child, my mom would give me any extra material that she had lying around. I would get card board boxes, trace a pattern of my foot, cut up the material to my desired style, and staple the material to the card board and have me a NEW pair of shoes. They wouldn't last past 6 or 7 steps, but you couldn't tell me that I wasn't stylin’…. LOL. In watching my mom sew clothes for my sister and me, to eventually following patterns as well as creating my own, I gained a love and respect for fashion. Over the years I would dabble with designing from painting cartoon characters on jeans to cuttin' them up, to creating beautiful halter tops to miniMini skirts. I never strayed away from the love and passion for fashion. Even though I was talented on the sewing machine, I always wanted to know how to knit and crochet. I thought I would not be able to sit long enough to learn, but one day in 1997 I did. A friend of mine always crocheted hats and I would watch her for hours. It amazed me how swift she was with her needle. I learned most of what I know from watching her but she did teach me some basic fundamentals. Even though she was very creative she became way too much for me, but I took with me what she taught me and never stopped crocheting. During that time, I was going through some life changing situations that would make the strongest BEING crumble to dust. So, instead of getting even with certain people and situations, I would turn my frustration into creating bizarre clothes with an edge of crochet or knits. So when ever I was "LiViD" I was at my best in designing clothes; hence LiViDesigns (also LVD are my initials Londa-Vo..ncile Desormeau). I also believe in RECYCLING garments. If you have a favorite item of clothing that was distroyed, you don't have to throw it away. I feel that all garments are can be preserved. Even if it the item can not be exactly what it was, it can become something else that's wear-able, fashionable, and hottttttt. If there is anything that I want people to get from my designs is to be your self and go there with fashion. Don’t be afraid to let the inner TRUTH come out in your style & when you get angry or become disturbed by issues in your world, turn it into something FIERCE!!! Give the world the one thing they are not ready for ….THE REAL YOU!!!!
