On a dark autumn evening the concept of mortar first saw the light of day. a couple of guys, ( one of those guys nowadays handles the bass and vocal duties ) where jamming some of their favorite metal songs in the backstage of a local venue. Right then and there they decided to start a band. But not just any band, they wanted to start a band that did something new, to refreshing the scene if you will.After looking for other band members they met a lead-guitarist named Paul Vreuls. some time after that they found a drummer named Kevin Arts, they couldn't believe the speed of this guy so he was hired on the spot. After some time the band didn't really have any songs or material, so it seemed like it was doomed from the start.However these guys didn't want to give it up without a fight and decided to give it their all to succeed and bring the metal to the masses. Some time after this Uri Dijk had the idea to help the guys out with writing the songs, but it didn't take long before he joined the band as a permanent member.After writing a couple of songs the band became concious of their potential and their goal became clear: spreading the word on METAL! but the guys where missing one essential thing, a vocalist! soon they found her(!) Charlotte van Noort really gave the guys something special with her voice like an angel ( a pretty metal one though ) But charlotte thought it would be a good idea to have grunt vocals alongside her clean vocals. So Bjorn was charged with Bass and vocal duties.Just as everything was going well the band had to go through some heavy weather and had to let their rythem-guitarist go. But that didn't stop them, on the contrary they found a new guitarist named Kevin Bol and they where Back with avengeance!So the line up is complete, the songs are written, and they are hungry for more! keep you're eyes open, we're closer than you might think
