I am 25 years old and I live in beautiful Southern California. My husband and I work together at a group home where we are responsible for the care of 6 girls, in addition to our own son! Gilbert and I have known each other since we were kids (11 years old). We began dating over 8 years ago, during our senior year of high school, and we were married May 21, 2005! (an AMAZING day!) Another amazing day for us occurred about a year and a half later, when our son Geremiah arrived, and transformed us from a couple, into a family:) He is almost 3 years old now and I cannot believe how much he changes and grows every day. He is such a tremendous blessing!
During my pregnancy with my son, I finally got motivated to go back to school and pursue my education full force. (It's amazing what you can accomplish when you have some intense inspiration that will not let you back down!) I am now wrapping up my senior year of college at Ashford University for my Bachelor's in Psychology.
After I get my BA, I will be applying at Loma Linda University for their master's program in marriage and family therapy so that I can become a CA state licensed therapist. My ultimate goal is to help young people suffering from neurological, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders. I also plan on becoming an online psych. professor at Ashford in the future because I LOVE Ashford and I LOVE psychology, so why not?:)
If I have learned anything in life, it is that I can accomplish much more than what has been expected out of me. I have learned to disregard any negative thoughts or words and just focus on the positive, future results of my goals. INSPIRATION, MOTIVATION, and DEDICATION. Those are three very important words in my vocabulary. Next to God and my family, they are what keep me going strong!!!:)
