About Me

I grew up in Petoskey, MI and loved music -kept me alive - had Mary Poppins and Sound of Music memorized and ever other show tune in order to torment relatives and anyone who would listen. Ended up living in Montana and teaching in one room school houses then moved onto Maine and getting my masters degree and it was there I discovered Shawn Colvin, Devonsquare, Cheryl Wheeler, Bruce Cockburn, Christine Lavin and Aztec Two-Step as well as many other more. I then met my first love of my life and ended up at the North Carolina School of the Arts working there and loved it - met up with David Wilcox, Kristin Hall, Disappear Fear, Indigo Girls - when they were playing really small venues, and many other artists - it was great. Met the major love of my life and ended up in Maryland and then Delaware. Not a lot of music in Delaware so I had this dream to start a music promotion company called Listening Post Productions and unfortunately because of many reasons - I became temporarily disabled and lost some money - crack and heroin sells better than music in Wilmington DE at times so I had to shut it down. My health improved and I started DJ'ing at WVUD-FM 91.3 for 4 years. Then I started working FT outside of Philadelphia and due to that job, the hours and the commute I could no longer put in the hours at WVUD-FM. I then decided to have an internet radio show "3 Degrees or Less" as a way to continue to promote independent music. After 2 1/2 years with internet radio I have had to close that down due to medical issues and conserving my energy. Unfortunately - as much as Ilove music and promoting it - I also need to keep a steady paycheck. I am afraid that I currently cannot do both.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: The artists I played were many from Cary Cooper, David Wilcox, Erik Balkey, Red Molly, Jen Foster, Andy and Denise, Jonathan Byrd, David Roth, Tom Prasado-Rao, Ellis, Devonsquare, We're About 9, Girlyman, Susan Werner, Catie Curtis, The Weepies, David LaMotte, Chris Rosser, Joe Crookston, Chris Rosser, John Gorka, Johnsmith, Chris O'Brien, Butch Zito, Jud Caswell, Arlon Bennett, Cheryl Wheeler, Bruce Cockburn, Wishing Chair, FREEBO, Richard Shindell, Laura Love, Jackson Browne,Dave Carter, Tracy Grammer and the list is endless. There are so many artists that I admire and care for - music is so important to me - so if you are a musician and you don't see your name on this list - it isn't about you - it's because of my train of thought while I was typing this on this particular day...one day I am listening to the Godspell soundtrack and classical music and the next day I am really into Kenny White and Greg Brown. Then a few hours later I might be listening to Cosy Sheridan,Tom Kimmell and then it's onto Scott and Michell Dalziel. I'm random - Catie Curtis is bound to pop in there as is Jenn Todd.
Influences: My mom, dad, Merris my partner, watching bad tv, singing with the chorale, bumper stickers, I play the piano and the guitar - do I play them well - that's my business -I'm pissed off at organized religion right now - but I'm not pissed at God.I am strongly influenced by my pets who I believe I strongly influence but I am wrong about that.Have a lot of "intellectual crushes" on people.....
