Michael J Badagliacco began singing professionally while still in school, where he did the typical thing of starting his own band. A short lived venture that lead to bigger and brighter things.
Shortly after graduation Michael joined the Air Force where he had the opportunity to audition for the Air Force's own "Blue Steel", one of two of the Air Force's premier Rock Bands, where Michael was selected to become the male lead vocalist. Located at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was there that Michael began to hone in his vocal skills and met his songwriting partner, Shawn M. Stanley.
After nearly 8 years in the Air Force, Michael and Shawn (known as "Vision") recorded a demo and began negotiating with a small label out of Nashville, TN to record a "debut album". Being young in the industry, Michael and Shawn should have listened to a famous line, "It Don't Mean Nothing 'til you sign it on the dotted line". Just two weeks after getting out of the Air Force, negotiations broke down between Vision and the label.
So, Michael began to look into studios where he and Shawn could record something that would not be considered a "demo", a place where they could record a "master". That is when Michael stumbled across Colorado Sound. After his appointment with studio owner, Kevin Clock interesting things began to occur. Kevin asked Michael if he would be interested in looking into singing with another group. Michael let him know that, if it was the right fit he would consider it.
After a discussion with Shawn concerning the opportunity, Michael met with Ric Podmore of "ARRIVAL". At the meeting Ric and Michael listened to each others music and knew immediately, it was the right fit! Michael stepped into the vocal booth at Colorado Sound and began printing his vocal on the ARRIVAL masters.
Shortly after that, Shawn returned to the Air Force (where Shawn enjoyed a fruitful career as a full time musician) and Michael moved to Denver, Colorado where he officially became a member of ARRIVAL.
Michael left Denver and ultimately ARRIVAL in 2001 to be with his family in California, where he still resides. Tragically or maybe simply by fate, Michael wound up divorced. After getting back in touch with ARRIVAL, who had a few singers come and go after Michael's departure, the timing seemed to be right on time. It was like things picked right back up.
Currently Michael is working on a new cd with ARRIVAL for a fall 2009 release in Europe and Asia. The new cd is called "Into the Outer Side". Much like the previous ARRIVAL cd's the new cd builds upon a deep rich sound that ARRIVAL has captured so eloquently for years.
So here I am today!
