Well my name is Zach (some people call me Coolzey) and I listened to mostly hip hop music, Weird Al, and Guns and Roses from when I was born in 1976 until around my junior year in high school in 1994. That's about the time that Nirvana happened. After that I started liking everything again! I also started playing guitar and writing songs about that time. I started out covering Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana songs, then in college at the University of Iowa I went through a huuuuge Lou Barlow phase, and then I pretty much worshipped Doug Martsch, Mark Robinson, Steve Malkmus, Calvin Johnson, and Jason Loewenstein. I likes all sorts of crazy shit, but this is my cryin and smilin rock and roll page. This is the my high school sweetheart dumped me right before the homecoming game page. I grew up in a small town that was very innocent, sports, cornfields, crushes, it seemed like a very magical little place especially in October. Rachel Feldman and Kate Kane are two amazing Iowa City area girls that I met when I fell in love with their punk/pop band Lipstick Homicide. If they are playing a show and I can make it I always go. If you haven't seen a Lipstick Homicide and you have the chance to, YOU ARE FUCKING UP!!! I adore them so much it make me want to burst sometimes!!! Grace Sinclair actually she's married and is Grace Locke-Ward now, I always forget, I met when she was in a sweet local band called Mr. Blanding's Dreamhouse. She sang and played guitar and then later formed Petit Mal, and continues to write some of the best straight up rock/pop/with a metalish twist songs in town. She is like a mother to me. Seriously, she can always tell when I am not feeling well and does too many nice things for me. She is one of my best friends and she also rocks on the drums!!!! Clayton Schuneman I met when he was in the Miracles of God, one of my favorite Iowa City bands. He was also in Lucy Star. Ever since I met him we have hit it off and become better and better friends. Now I don't know what I'd do without him! And then wouldn't ya know it he also writes beautiful later-Pat Smearesque lead parts that lay right over the top of the chords I play. What a guy!!!
