Michael Taylor Donovan

A Northwest native, Michael has worked professionally in the entertainment industry for over eighteen years. His extensive credits have afforded him a rare view of the inner-workings of commercial, television and film production from many different levels, which has been beneficial to the making of feature films. Michael comes to producing from the acting world, having performed in well over one hundred prinicipal and leading roles both in film, television, commercials , videos, computer games and live theatre. Most notably having had roles on such television shows as NORTHERN EXPOSURE, NOWHERE MAN, UNSOLVED MYSTERIES, BETTER OFF DEAD and MEDICINE BALL and in independent films such as THE FALLING, THE STANDARD, THE BATTLE IN SEATTLE, DAMAGED GOODS, SPREE, THE ANTELOPE CHESS GAME and PHANTASMAGORIA ll: A PUZZLE OF FLESH... among many others.
Michael has worked many positions in the film and commercial business from SAG (Screen Actors Guild) actor, to stand-in, to production assistant, assistant director, casting director, location scout, grip, camera operator, all the way to producer. As a producer Michael has worked with various filmmakers. He started his producing stint nearly ten years ago with Insanity Filmworks on the independent black comedy, DAMAGED GOODS, which received international distribution through Panama Entertainment.
In the last year, he has co-produced the independent short film, CONTINUUM with British director, Jay Purcell. As well as co-producer, Michael played the supporting lead of British psychiatrist, Dr. Nigel Carson. The US premiere screening was held in Seattle on May 4, 2008. The feature length version of CONTINUUM is currently in development and scheduled to be shot in 2009.
In August of 2007, he finished producing the mockumentary short film, THE WIND CRIES MARTY, with director, Palmer Avery. It has just garnered a premiere screening at the 2008 Seattle True Independent Film Festival. Based upon the highly gifted performance of Kristen Manning in the leading role of Lacey Lockhardt, the director has expanded the script into a full length feature, which is already in development.
He also found the time in 2007 to take on the iconic role of Arizona Higgins in the Sci-Fi feature, PROJECT LONDON with Spiral Productions, LLC. After shooting wrapped, the producer, Nathan McCoy, wrote “Mentioned 41 times in the script, and delivering the monologue of the day, was Michael Donovan as Arizona Higgins. You’ll have to wait to see the film to see how cool this was. Michael delivered flawlessly, with great pathos. It was truly an epic performance.”
As a partner in Mirror Images, Ltd., Michael is presently producing the modern day western, REKINDLED, with production slated to begin shooting in August 2008. Michael began working with Mirror Images, Ltd. on their first feature film, THE FALLING on a budget of $60,000, but numerouis reviews have praised it as being the quality of a film with a budget easily four to five times that amount. With a budget of $15 million, their next film, REKINDLED is an action-based full length feature by writer/director and founder of Mirror Images, Ltd., Nicholas Gyeney. In REKINDLED, Nicholas takes a unique approach to the art of filmmaking by combining intense action sequences with heartfelt character drama. Acclaimed actress, Lymari Nadal , known for her breakout performance in American Gangster as Denzel Washington's wife, Eva, is already attached to this project. Composer, Jeff Danna is attached, as well. Best known for his scores to films like "The Boondock Saints", "Fracture", "Silent Hill", "Resident Evil: Apocalypse", and "O,” Echelon Entertainment, a smaller studio, and Shoreline Entertainment, a much more prominent studio, have both guaranteed the distribution of REKINDLED upon completion in both foreign and domestic territories.

We are working toward the financing of the films of several filmmakers, including Justice Pictures, SKS Entertainment Group, Remnant Studios, Mara Films and Secret Umbrella Pictures. These films will be shot in locations ranging from sunny Florida, the streets of San Francisco, the scenic Pacific Northwest and all the way to the majestic bastions of Romania. Some of the talented individuals interested in working with us are Oscar-nominated directors, Oscar-winning cinematographers and several A list actors (currently in negotiations with Oscar-winning actors for the Romanian drama, SWEET MARA.)

With a $5.6 million budget and to be filmed in the rich tapestry of Romania, SWEET MARA is an epic drama and love story, set against the paranoid political background of Romania in the late 1980's, a time when governmental persecution threatened daily life and forced average citizens to conceal their beliefs in order to survive under Ceausecu's tyranical regime. As the country is approaching the bloodiest anti-communist revolution of the last fifty years, Mara is delivered in her darkest hour as betrayals are exposed, old transgressions are forgiven and hope of a better future is restored.

Oscar nominated director, Susan Seidelman is attached. In addition, the Oscar winning cinematographer, Vilmos Sigmund, is verbally attached. A distribution agreement is already in place. Actress, Isabella Rossellini is verbally attached.

With a budget of $15 million and to be filmed in the sunny atmosphere of Florida, INTO THE SUN combines the highly disciplined world of gymnastics and the extreme (and popular) sport of wakeboarding to create a story about a young woman who’s trying to find her place in the world, providing a very unique story that has never been told before in such a way.

Wakeboarding pro’s such as Shaun Murray and Darin Shaprio, have expressed their interest in doing cameo’s for the film, lending credibility and credence to the project. Champion Visions World, Ltd./Ally Distribution (the largest distributor of wakeboarding films) has submitted a letter of interest to be a sub-distributor for the film in the U.S. and Japan. Relationships with manufacturers for product tie-in are also being established, such as with Correct Craft, maker of the Nautique boat line.

LIABLE is the story of two would be entrepeneurs swept up into a world of business deceipt. Waging an "image is everything" campaign to woo investors and customers away from their money, this duo discovers the difficulty of surviving such scams, and learns the values of integrity.

Remnant Studios, LLC will produce this 10.5 million dollar dramatic comedy using cutting edge technologies, which will allow unprecedented production values at such a low investment.
