Experience is not what happens to you. Its what you do with what happens to you.

About Me

Above all else, I'm a mom and wife. I am a stay-at-home mom to my 2 awesome kids, who light up my life every day! I am married to the most patient, grounded, loving man alive. I will be the first to tell you I am not the easiest person to live with day in and day out, but he has stuck by me even on my worst days for almost 8 years now. I love him with all my heart!! I adore my family and friends and would go to the ends of the Earth for them! There's not much I wouldn't do for the people I care about!I am also a Christian who is trying to keep on that path, through all the ups and downs life brings. Its not easy, but I know the Lord is always there and always in control. In Sept 06, I started a vocal music program for youth here in my performing-arts-challenged community and am loving it! I've been blessed with some really fun, talented students and am loving the chance to combine my 2 huge passions, teaching and music.I'm a firm believer in the saying, "You can preach a better sermon with your life than your words." Hold to your morals and values, whatever they may be, and live by an example of love and kindness in all you do. I have high standards for myself and expect the same from those around me. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect you to try and be the best "you" you can be. I appreciate those who can have intelligent coversations and don't take everything in life at face value. Never be afraid to dream, expand, and grow.

My Interests

I think I pretty much covered it in my About Me section.... Anything else you want to know, I guess just ask me. I am pretty much an open book.

I'd like to meet:

Mostly just cool people I have met throughout my life so I can reconnect with them. Marriage and parenthood has turned me stale and boring for the most part, so I always like hearing what people are up to. If I don't know you, I probably won't add you, especially if you are majorly wierd or creepy or trying to sell me something, so save us both the hassle and don't bother trying to get me to add you. (Read my "Get OFF my page" blog for more on that.)

Music:

Movies:

I can't stand action or horror, but I am game for just about anything else. I LOVE comedies!! My all-time favorite movies are Princess Bride and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Television:

I don't have cable, so I don't get to watch a whole lot, except online recaps. Basically, though, when I do get to watch it, it boils down to 1 thing -- I am a serious reality TV junkie! Yeah, I know its not "real" and most of it is the trashiest stuff ever, but considering what a tame life I live, I guess you could call it my one guilty pleasure. And I love dramas! I love CSI, Lost, Dancing with the Stars, America's Next Top Model, The Bachelor, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Beauty and the Geek, Ugly Betty.... Yeah, I'm pretty stereotypical, what can I say?

Heroes:

Those who have triumphed over great adversity in their life, whatever that may be. Anyone who is striving to constantly push themselves harder to grow as a person. ...Oh, and anyone with more than 3 kids -- you get serious props!

Forgiveness

This blog is rooted in a lot of jumbled underlying raw emotion; frustration, sadness, confusion, self-doubt, heartache...  So bear with me.  It may not go anywhere.  But I need to sort ...

Gods Wrath -- Part II

I got this in my bulletins today and it, for the most part, disturbed me.  Here, read it first.  Then my commentary.  (BTW, I reformatted it so its more point-by-point, but didn't rearr...

Hmm....  Not sure where I am going to go with this, or even if I am going to make my jumbled thougts come out in any logical way, but hey, I'll give it a try. I have been talking to a lot of peop...

The new generations work ethic

Okay, I am going to talk in generalizations here, so nobody get all up in a huff, okay?  I know not ALL young people fall under this umbrella, but it seems to be a growing trend: lack of work eth...

There are a lot of people lately that have told me they look to me as being a model of inner strength.  Thing is, I don't see it.  But obviously there is something there, so I have been doin...

Its things like this....

I'm not sure exactly what I am going to say or even if I am going to make my point, but I am sure going to try. About a week back, a young man, 23, died here in our area in a car accident.  He is...
