"Learning is change. Salvation does not seek to use a means as yet too alien to your thinking to be helpful, nor to make the kinds of change you could not recognize. Concepts are needed while perception lasts, and changing concepts is salvation's task. For it must deal in contrasts, not in truth, which has no opposite and cannot change. In this world's concepts are the guilty "bad"; the "good" are innocent. And no one here but holds a concept of himself which he counts the "good" to pardon him the "bad." Nor does he trust the "good" in anyone, believing that the "bad" must lurk behind. This concept emphasizes treachery, and trust becomes impossible. Nor could it change while you perceive the "bad" in you."
A Course in Miracles
The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, The BEATLES, Foo Fighters, Eminem................Bee Gees, Barbara Streisand, Barry Manilow....LOL and just about everything that lies on the miles between those extremes.....except for hard core rap or jazz.....I just don't get the former and the latter makes my head spin.
American Beauty. Rocky. Every Mel Brooks movie made. REAL horror flicks like The Shining and An American Werewolf in London. Jaws may very well be my favorite movie of all time. I cannot count the number of times I've watched this movie and yet, if I catch it on, I MUST watch it AGAIN. Bram Stoker's Dracula is another one I MUST watch...I don't know, something about it's just HOT. Meet Joe Black, Donnie Darko, National Lampoon's Vacation..."Aunt Edna..this is your tent.", Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Tommy Boy, Zoolander, films like Braveheart are not usually my bag, but this is one of my favorites as are Gladiator and The Patriot. I love chick flicks like Steel Magnolias...I'm a total sap and can only watch those alone or with my daughter who totally "gets me" and turns into just as much of a blubbering mess as I do. Fargo, Pulp Fiction, Poltergeist, Pay it Forward and Scarface. TOPGUN....of course...TOPGUN and An Oficer and a Gentleman..LOVE that one.."Way to go Paula! Way to go!" HAHAHAHA. The Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory..There are just too many movies that I love....could go on and on here...it is a rare sequel that I enjoy. Greed ruins a good thing.
I'm a total Home and Garden freak. I get addicted to Forensic / Cold Case Files...I have to monitor myself with those. Once I start having nightmares about them finding dead bodies out in my garage in the garbage cans, and I'm under suspicion for murder....well, I have to cut myself off. National Geographic, History and A&E always suck me in...especially the oceanographic shows and biographies. I can watch sharks for hours. I get stuck on total trash like "Rock of Love" LOL People fascinate me. I never cease to be amazed! OMG. What can I say...I was 18 in 1987. And of course, I love Grey's and House.
Stephen King when I want a great trip and books like A Course in Miracles for keeping proper perspective. Jonathan Livingston Seagull is one of my all time favorite books as is The Giving Tree.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...OMG
Everyone who strives to live in the truth, the light and the WAY. Protectors, rescue workers, soldiers. Those willing to lay down their lives for another. My dear and most beloved friend Mac who gave his on Sept. 11. 2001. Our beloved friend Amy, who also gave her life that day. Today's youth. My daughter, Gina Patty, who could easily have chosen another road.
Love endures death.....
