Young Nephew was born Aaron C. Amos on November 11, 1986. Nephew is known to be funny guy and he took that to his advantage. So he turned his jokes into songs just to be funny not taking his talent very seriously. Then one day someone told him he had skills so that motivated him to get a lil bit more serious. When Nephew hit high school he began to make beats and hooked up with a student by the rap name of Concept. Rapping with Concept helped him to develop a better vocabulary within his rhymes. Nephew got so much better that he started to do rap battles and was recognized as the top rapper in the school. People began to say that he wasn’t a serious rapper and only told jokes in his rhymes. Feeling offended Nephew began to write about things he was going thru and things he been thru. At the time he was selling drugs outside of school to have some kind of money in his pockets. As time went on Nephew began to let the street life get the best of him. When his older brother went to jail for murder, he began to hang out in the streets with the older cats from around the way. Robbing people, stealing cars and smoking started to be an everyday hobby. Not going down the right path and not having his older brother who he looked up to for these kinds of moments Nephew went to his older cousin for guidance. His cousin understood what he was going threw and got him into basketball which he took very seriously. At the time it was too late Nephew was having problems and was forced to move to Perris with his uncle, into an environment he wasn’t used to. It was in Perris where Nephew discovered his name because his uncle always called him “Nephewâ€, which became the household name. Aaron vanished and Nephew was born. While in Perris, Nephew joined a click named Black Tek mafia, which includes bloods and crips of the area. At this stage of Nephews life nobody could tell him anything. Joining Black Tek, Nephew held his first gun. After seeing his cousin going to jail for murder Nephew felt it was enough to make him take music seriously and get out the situation he was in. In Nephews senior year of high school he moved back to Inglewood and hooked up with his local friend Noiz. Noiz made the beats and Nephew drop the lyrics. Years went by of doing tracks and not doing anything with them. Nephew passion for music slowly but surely started to go down the drain because the lost of interest. Nephew fell off the seen for a year until Noiz started his own label Champ City Ent. This Inglewood native is currently working on his first album entitled “Tha Princeâ€. Nephew is representing his city, his struggle, his pain, as well as his lyrics and putting all the negativity of the critics to rest.
