CJ Watson

On one hand a writer, and with both hands, a pianist, CJ Watson creates music that resonates with his listeners' emotions. Deeply connected to the piano keyboard, the ebony and ivory keys are the tools he uses to bring his vibrant, passionate musical vision to life. A classically trained instrumental virtuoso with a valid claim to six degrees of separation from Beethoven's teaching, CJ combines soulful vocals with the power of the piano, transporting the listener to a musical experience in which they too can find a connection. Born in Atlanta and a veteran of today's ubiquitous high school piano competitions, CJ was accepted into the University of Miami's Frost School of Music in 2006, majoring in Music Business and Spanish with Classical Piano his primary instrument. The cultural diversity of Miami proved to be a great inspiration to CJ, providing a rich backdrop for the emotional wealth that only life experiences can offer. Although the image of CJ behind a piano brings to mind a young Lenny Kravitz, or the sophisticated style of Maxwell, the richly layered music he creates at the instrument and on the microphone introduces the audience to a new voice that is unmistakably, and uniquely, that of CJ Watson.
