About Me

Call me Justin
I was born somewhere in middle Massachusetts during the Nixon administration. I first picked up a guitar in 1985 at the ripe old age of 12, hoping to emulate my hero Randy Rhodes, the late guitarist from Ozzy Osbourne's band. Somehow, despite years of listening to heavy metal, I became a born again (evangelical? "fundy"? whatever the buzzword is today)Christian, proving that God really does have a sense of humor.
I have a son named Ben. He was born during the W administration. He's my best bud on the planet.
I write play guitar, sing, and write songs. Most of what I write is performed by the band in which I play called Poiema. Poiema (pronounced "Poe WEE meh" is a Greek word which means "workmanship" or "work of art."
I have 4 guitars at the moment: Gibson SG Classic, Fender American Standard Telecaster, Peavey Generation Vintage Series (tele copy), and Taylor 410 CE Acoustic. I also have a Fender MIM Jazz bass, a Sammick Mandolin, an Artisan Lap Steel, a bunch of harmonicas, and a djembe.
Sometimes, for fun, I will pull guitars apart and see if I can put them back together. I want to meet someone who can teach me how to build my own. I 'spect that would save me a lot of money

Influences: Why is this Playlist empty? Simple - greedy record company executives. Playlist simply offers links to songs that happen to be streaming on the net. Why the legallity of this is being called into question is beyond me. MySpace has decided to block the Playlist Widget, which is total BS. More reasons why I spend less and less time on this site.
I'll leave my empty Playlist up in protest. Luckily I can still listen at www.playlist.com

Sounds Like: some nerd learning how to use Cubase in his secluded downstairs room.

A pretty easy summation of life: keep all things in balance. This is wonderfully cliche, embarassingly commonplace, and yet so difficult to act out in real life. Its something one always has to remind...
