I have no answers only questions.

About Me

I've been living in Osaka Japan for about 4 odd years or so teaching engrish. I was born in Los Angeles, and I spent most of my life in the cess pool of broken dreams called southern California. Neverthless, I spent my junior high years living in a small hick town called Cloudcroft in New Mexico. I started high school at San Clemente High in California and I finished high school in another hick town called Dallas Oregon. I studied environmental studies (honors) and sociology at the University of Oregon in Eugene Oregon and after working at some seriously boring office slave jobs in Oregon and the bay area in California, I decided to come to Japan to start a new life and a new job. Due to timing and the economic circumstances, I found my McLiberal arts degree did little in terms of opening doors for me, neverthless it did open the gates for me to teach, so I guess I can't complain. No one likes a whiner anyway.Basically all I do is teach engrish, commute, study Japanese, play bass, backpack around south east asia whenever I have the chance and hang out with my wife (and occassionally go to concerts). I'm a sucker for routines which I mindlessly pursue with an intense ritualistic devotion that is deviantly unhealthy.I love living in Japan because every day reveals new mysteries and new personalities. However, I think even if I spoke fluent Japanese, I would not even scratch the surface of the culture I'm living on the fringes of. This feeling of alienation and wonder fuels my existence, as it truly presents a challenging environment from which I can reflect upon.In general as I grow older I find that I have fewer things to say. Nevertheless, my curiosity and confusion about the nature of reality grows daily.
