The Brown
SOUND
Bo Brown born in Albuquerque,NM comes from musical roots. Going back and forth from where his mother who then lived in Px Az and his father who lived in Albuquerque, NM. Bo managed at a young age to survive in an unbalanced world. He tried to ride bulls until one to many falls busted his knee. He was forced to quit before he could go any further. His mother an amateur barrel racer won many events at the Prewitt fairgrounds pushed her son into the sport. Attributed to his living in a country environment as a young boy, most likely led to his country way of life. Including his love for country music. Bo is surrounded by lots of family.
(The Browns) who he gives so much thanks and love for always being by his side.Bo lived in Grants NM where he actually started playing. His father a well known music artist in NM, for many years now with the Lord, left his sons the ability to use the talents that are long over due for the world to hear. Bo picked up a guitar at an early age and started acting like his talented father. Entertaining his sisters and brother he along with his brother often acted like they were on stage and insisted his sisters watch followed with an applaud. His parents were divorced when Bo was a young boy. Yet the love and closeness they had over the years for one another projected an image of love in Bo's heart.
At a tender age of 12 Bo's mother recognizing his talents took him to Mr. Lucky's in Px Az, for a talent contest where hundreds would enter. His mother talked J.David Sloan into letting her son enter. Only after arranging for him to be there, he did take his turn and like a pro entertained the audience with his professional performance, singing they call me a Fireman a popular tune by the great George Strait. Well needless to say he did win first place, along with a standing ovation and won 100.00 and the love and admiration of many people that night. Using the money he won, took his mother, sisters and brother to dinner.
So he went on to sing solos always playing for who ever would listen. Hearing or reading in the paper that someone was needed for their band. Bo landed in the then local band called Dessert Rain. Played in the local area of Grants NM, his home base. San Mateo NM, Gallup NM, and the great Caravan east in Albuquerque NM . He quickly progressed and entertained throughout New Mexico building up and establishing fan bases where ever the band played.
Bo played with Dessert Rain for ten years.
It was apparent that he had indeed inherited the velvet sound of his Father. Bo has written and recorded all his songs that will be coming soon in the near future for you to hear. Many touching our hearts as he sings from within. Leaving you asking for more, as his style is unique and versatile. He also sang in the VIP room in Calif, where Tim Mcgraw and Big and Rich were appearing. He also entered into a Colgate Country Showdown, posted on his pic's for you to read.
It was in 2002 when his father and mother were in an accident while on their way to see Bo's brother AB in California when his father was killed. This devastated Bo and he left the music put his guitar down and got terribly lost. It took many years for Bo to come out of it. His brother who stood and worked closely with Bo encouraged him introducing him to a brighter side of life. It was then that Bo started to realize that there was so much more to life. His mother who never stopped believing that her sons, would live and sing through their fathers dream would hear her son for the first time again on my space, on Feb the 19th of 08 quickly came to her son's side to encourage him to do something about it. Bo accepted because he is now in a much better place to give and let eveyone hear his mighty sound. His mother his favorite and probably strongest fan began her search for her son . Someone will come along Bo.
Always believing that her son has what it takes to put him up where he should of been years ago. So now it begins. This site dedicated to the memory of the one and only his father. The late great Freddie Brown, who over the years achieved much successes. Winning many awards best Spanish entertainer of the year. In 2002 New Mexico Hispano Entertainers Association awarded Freddie Brown with gospel song of the year. In 1993 Golden Oldie. And the latest Hispano lifetime achievement award which was presented and accepted by Bo. The name still draws listeners where radio stations still play his music. Bo believes that his time has come and is ripping down every obstacle in order to give back what was left for him talent. Beautiful talent that with the help of family, friends and fans will take him where he wants and should be.
