WILD BLOOD

About Me

The band was formed in the Spring of 2007 with Jon originally playing drums, Darin on bass, and a temporary guitar player. Danny, (Darin’s dad) heard some great guitar playing coming from the studio one day and peeked inside to find that it was Jon, the drummer, showing his hidden guitar talent. Amazed at Jon’s abilities, Danny and Darin practically forbid Jon to continue on drums and insisted that he was the guitar player they had been searching for. Jon agreed and instead, Darin and Jon took up the search for a drummer.

As Darin and Jon searched, Danny agreed to sit in occasionally on drums, affording Darin and Jon some rehearsal time with a full band. Danny is a lifetime pro drummer who has played and recorded with many acts such as; Jamie James & The Kingbees, The Dickies, Lucinda Williams, and jammed with Dave Edmunds, Skunk Baxter, Members of Fear, Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols and many more, and he has shared a marquis with such acts as; X, Fear, Circle Jerks, The Blasters, Billy Zoom, Madness and countless others. As it turned out... Darin and Jon’s remarkable songwriting talent and playing skills were so complimented by Dad’s thunderous drumming, that the merger became inevitable. Darin and Jon asked Danny to join the band permanently, and so it was that a 19-year-old bassist, a 17-year-old guitarist, and a 52-year-old road dog drummer, became the Stumptown Poets.
