About Me

my family calls me a rotten banana - yellow on the outside, white/brown on the inside. yellow because.... i'm yonsei, 4th generation japanese american.. and darn proud of it! white because... some asians think i'm white since i don't exclusively associate with other asians. brown because....me encanta la cultura latina! a love that first developed with the language, then biological research in costa rica during college, medical mission work in nicaragua, a high school science teaching stint in paraguay, travels throughout south america, and a leadership role in the mexico house building ministry with my church, ROCKharbor.God has faithfully led me through this wonder-filled journey: i am currently living in mexico to study medicine! the MD, bilingual training, and international health experience will hopefully provide opportunities to not only be a health provider to developing countries, but a resident, rights advocate, and public health educator. i fled the states, once again...

My Interests

living abroad, traveling, global public health, baseball (angels, dodgers), ESPN, skiing! hitting golf balls with dad, dancing, reading, piano, coffee, terere-ing, spanish, sudoku, dutch blitz, learning how to love and trust God more, simplifying life...

Music:

bacilos, carlos vives, shakira, julieta venegas, U2, beatles, alison krauss and union station, caedmon's call, david crowder band, chris tomlin, simon and garfunkel, (random mix, i know).... i can appreciate all types to an extent....even kachaka.
