About Me

Heyyo, Slikk Tim's the name and bass is my game.
I'm always lookin for new musical experiences, be it anything you wanna call it. As soon as I can feel the music, I fall in love with it, get serious with it and I challenge myself as hard as I can to put my best into it.

I also love to produce music, be it engineering live bands, or gettin all out on the samplers and sequencers. I actually started makin' music that way.
(I did something like 6 years of classical studies (piano and clarinet) then 2 years of jazz studies but nowadays I don't really consider it makin actual music, it was really just like school. Useful, but unfulfilling.)
I also have a Youtube channel which some kinda bass place for me, I was -and still am- helped a lot by seeing musicians play their stuff on video so I thought I could give it a shot too.

And now a lil' blurb on how I got into the thick of it:
As far as I can remember, the thing that said to me "Damn, you really love music" was Oscar Peterson's 'Night Train' cd.
I was somethin like 6 or 7, and as soon as I popped the reissue CD in the stereo, there was something in those bluesy licks, fat bass and tight drumming that sent shivers down my spine.
Then the thing that said to me "Damn, you really have to play bass" was probably the mixes I downloaded from WeFunkRadio's weekly shows. The blend of raw hiphop and street funk was -and still is- filled to the brim with the greatest basslines ever. But I suspect all the early MetalHeadz and Underground Resistance tracks surely had their part.
Then the thing that said to me "Damn, you can't help but eat, sleep and breathe music" was James Brown 'Startime' anthology -and in particular the second half from 'Make it funky'. There was just somethin that blew me outta the water and I still can't explain what nowadays... guess it's only better that way !

Oh yeah one last thing if you're wondering 'bout the nickname: one time a close friend said I was just like the wolf from those Tex Avery movies... wich is called Slick Wolf. But y'know, K's are Kool.
