I've been a chubby kid and a buff wedge. I’ve been a winner and I’ve lost too many times. I’ve been a good man and I’ve been a bad man. I’ve been loved and I’ve been despised. I've been accepted and I’ve been ignored. I’ve been an angel and I am a devil. I’ve been an honest man and I’ve cheated. I’ve been faithful and I've let my judgment lapse. I've resided in a house and I've lived inside a bottle. I've burned up the streets with Goodyear tires and alcohol, and never got caught. I’ve picked up a prostitute at a truck stop and.... she lived with me for 2 weeks. I’ve driven a farm tractor on city streets...drunk. I’ve seen Jimmie Hendrix bring a Strat to life, and Eric Clapton die on stage by coke. I’ve seen the opulence of Beverly Hills and the abstract poverty in the streets of Manila. I’ve seen a man die and have pulled a calf to give it life. I’ve driven down a track with over 300 horses, and I’ve felt the exuberance of one horses power running with me on its back. I’ve made money and I’ve made bad investments. I have been hurt and I’ve caused pain. I’ve asked for absolution and I have forgiven. I’ve mingled with the rich and famous and I’ve rubbed elbows with the homeless. I’ve flown on clouds and I’ve ridden on an oceans crest. I’ve seen thousands pray and I’ve seen much to many people cry. I’ve held an infant in my arms and shown her the stars, I stand in the twilight and wonder how she will be with out me. I’ve laughed at adversity to its face, and I’ve been knocked down by attitude. I’ve spoken the truth and am living a lie. My soul is full but my heart is lacking I love, and I am me, and I live...
