His love for music was evident from tender age as he started singing for people when he was four years old. This was further displayed in church, then school concerts at deCarteret College in Mandeville where he attended.After leaving school he left the cool and quiet Mandeville for the garrison, Water House, in Kingston to pursue his career. Here he got the chance to hang out at King Jamming Studio where most of the major stars back then were. These stars included Shabba Ranks, Tiger, Super Cat and Ninja Man. It was here that he mastered the important art of dance hall music.He then went on to record songs for Stone Love, Junior Reid, Black Scorpio and Collin Fat among others. His stardom in the music industry began with his hit single Slam Bam. Don Mafia has creatively defied the odds lyrically not only for himself but also for other artists as well.His most recently recognizable success comes with the hit single he wrote for the Doctor Beenie Man, Frame I An I (One Bag A Lie). This song was catapulted to number the one position on music charts all over the world.After all this he has been in and out of the business and performing both locally and internationally. Since then the artist can be quoted as saying that he will be Dealing with his career on a more serious level. He has recorded over seventy (70) songs over the past year for most of the top producers in the business, including Scatta (Kings of Kings), Shocking Vibes, Don Corleon, Baby G, Jam 2, Dj Sun shine, Dj Wayne, Black Chiney, Richie D, Big A, Mario C, and Young Blood among the who is who in the industry. He has performed on most major shows in Jamaica such as Summer Sizzle, Island Explosion, Dancehall Jam Jam, and his most recent booking Spring Break, where he created a lyrical typhoon among his captivating fans. He as also performed in the Caribbean and leaving a memorable image of himself in the minds of his Caribbean fans in countries such as St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Belize, St. Croix, Trinidad and Tobago, and Bahamas to name a few.His recently concluded 26-city tour in the USA, as an opening act for the Doctor Beenie Man along side Ruff Cut Band was viewed as a major success for his Phoenix rising career. Don Mafia has been getting regular rotations on the radio with his cultural songs, Pray For My Mama, Born a Man, I am not The Same, and his hardcore dancehall tunes, We Party a collaboration with Lukie D, Red Eye Fi Mi Tings (for which he has a hot music video), U An U Man a collaboration with Chico and Zum Zum Tight a collaboration with Beenie Man. Hear Sey was released on the Don Corleon Label, The Sweat Rhythm. This song is a new buzz at stage shows among dancehall fans.His lyrical capacity and his extra ordinary style which he manages to keep his performance constant. For the future this artist plans to keep creating songs that everyone can relate to and to maintain unity, as he makes his contribution to foster growth in the Dancehall.
