Dre Allen is simply a man who has overcome what some would call an impossible set of odds. Born to a prostitute & a pimp, homeless at the age of 11, subject to physical abuse, everything the street life had to offer, & a judicial system MORE than willing to find a place for him in their lockup facilities, Dre has risen above the hate that could have festered & found a desire to deliver love to the world through his music. He has been through a turbulent music career and an even more devastating childhood but with impermeable persistence and passion, Dre Allen created a body of soulful and inspirational music. With "The Dre Allen Project", his freshman effort, he developed his style. The Dre Allen Project put soul into rock & hip hop with strong vocals and unique musical arrangement. On his sophomore effort "Ghetto Rockstar" Dre found his swagger & dove into his r&b roots more to evenly express his love for all of the genre's that sculpted his sound. Do not get it misconstrued. This is not JUST an R&B artist. He is as Rock, Pop, & Hip Hop as they come musically, but it's when the lights go down and the smooth tone of his voice, which can be characterized as a mixture between John Legend, Lenny Kravitz, & Robin Thicke...that he soars into the hearts of fans. And especially on songs like "The Ledge" & "Why Can't I Fly". This blockbuster song is also the only duet on the album which features 15 time MTV VMA recipient Dawn Robinson from En Vogue & Lucy Pearl. "The song is about escapism & just enjoying life outside of your daily constraints," explains Dre. This song is the perfect illustration of the musical talents of Dre Allen. His latest album "The Narcissist", mixes different musical elements like organic unmixed sounds, urban expression, heavy drums, and monster guitar. Who is Dre? He is a man with a mission. After 10 failed record deals, a stint in incarceration, and a brief career with R&B group, IV Xample, Dre is finally ready to spread his musical wings. " He should be opening for Lenny Kravitz, Dave Matthews, or Robin Thicke, because his music is likened to that," explains his manager. In December 2005, Music Connection Magazine named Dre Allen as "One of Southern California’s Top Unsigned Artist." Today, being unsigned is of no worry for Allen. Movemakers Entertainment is his brainchild & he has recently moved from the urban music mecca Atlanta back to Los Angeles. But while in Atlanta, his exploits sprouted a collaborative venture with The Dungeon Family & Rico Wade (the creative force behind TLC's Waterfalls, EnVogue's Don't Let Go, Outkast, Goodie Mobb, Gnarles Barkley, Ludacris, & many more). That collaboration has earned him a co writer credit with the song "Ringtone" on the forthcoming solo album by Big Boi of the Grammy Award winning duo "Outkast"! Now from his home base in Los Angeles, Allen plans to take his indie label to the next level with his new associations. In his ambitious testimony, Allen has managed to make some progressive and creative music for the masses. Get ready.
