ifyoulovemusic is a simple concept - we want to give real music lovers control of a Music Business. This business will have 3 parts;
a Record Label
a Recording Studio
and a Radio Station

We are creating a community for people who love good music - listening to it or making it.
By making use of ifyoulovemusic, bands, musicians and fans of good music connect. Our ultimate goal is to give the community the tools to launch the ultimate Record Label, Recording Studio and Radio Station - owned by loyal music fans rather than by faceless corporations feeding the public manufactured trash.
Anyone can join ifyoulovemusic for free, but to get stuck in you will need to choose 1, 2 or all 3 'parts', and buy a share in each part.

To own a share you pay £12 a year per part, nobody (not even us) can own more than 1 share in each part. Today you can only join the site, we have not activated the shares system just yet.
So thats a minimum of £12 or £36 for all 3 parts. Between 23p and 69p per week to own a share of a groundbreaking Music Business!
As a band or artist you do not have to buy shares, but you might find you get more out of the site if you do, and you can of course vote for yourself!
The whole site is a democracy and the rules will change as the community writes them, we don't make all the rules up, that’s not our job and it’s not what we want - if we did we would just be like every other music site out there.
Bands and artists that want a contract will be able to audition, if the community like what they hear and think they can work with the act to make amazing music then they may offer a record deal. All profits will go back into more great music rather than to record company execs with large egos.
Obviously this is not for everyone, and only a few lucky ones will get a deal, for everyone else ifyoulovemusic offers so much more – a chance to show real music fans what you are all about.
Only ifyoulovemusic Bands and Artists will be played on the Radio Station. All recordings will be done in the community owned Studio, with live feeds being made available to the ifyoulovemusic fans via web cam feeds and audio through the Radio Station. As a package it all fits together rather nicely!

We didn't know if ifyoulovemusic could ever become a reality, but the staggering success of myfootballclub.co.uk showed us that we were not mad, we just needed to tell people what we planned to do.
ifyoulovemusic is born out of frustration, real music just doesn't get get the recognition it deserves and some of the most amazing musicians are ignored because the big labels don't notice them and/or are not currently looking for that style.
We say 'what's it got to do with the record labels and who do they think they are choosing who does and doesn't make music?'
These people THINK they know what we want so churn out endless manufactured trash that gets picked up by the masses mainly because they are force fed it and its addictive rather than they truly love what they are hearing.
Too often people don't know where to go for good new and exciting music, myspace does a cracking job of showing us what's out there but even then its a bit hit and miss, if you are popular you get more plays and more fans, if you are missed you might have a handful of fans, if that.
We have the main site – ifyoulovemusic.com - up and running but are still very much in beta stage and the site and community is evolving daily. Here are some of the features added already or coming very soon;
ifyoulovemusic displays bands randomly. So everyone has the same opportunity. We promote all bands, not just the most successful or most popular bands. Have a look and see.
A versatile, interactive gig calendar that allows people to find gigs in many ways including by their taste in music and by comparing what gigs they have been to before. It will also allow bands to tell anyone going to a gig if they are making any changes - if its cancelled you won't annoy them!  Fans who go to any of your gigs will be told when you’re gigging in their area again; lots more too.
We are making an intelligent Gig Arranger tool. This will help you match up with places looking for bands to gig. They will know your sound because they can preview your band on ifyoulovemusic.
If you ever need to add a new band member we have a great tool coming to help you find just the person you are looking for, or they might find you!
Add all that to what we have already, plus the community structure, throw in the plans for the community owned Record Label, Radio Station and Recording Studio (that’s an historic event in itself) and we think its going to be major fun and a great site for bands and music fans!
